Hi girls. Anyone else had that one odd menstrual period that only lasts 3-5 days? It's not always like that every month, but this month it's only my fourth day and I can only see a small speck already. It sorta freaks me out.

These are the way most of my periods are, to be honest. I don't think it's TOO abnormal- abnormal would be like bleeding reeeeally lightly every time or waaaay too heavily (I'm on the edge of this one), or for a lot of days in a row or something. I mean, if you're really concerned, by all means you should see a gyno, but it sounds fairly normal from where I stand.

Oh alright. Thank you. I do know people always describe menstrual period to last anywhere between 3-14 days, but I was always like "what the hell three days that can't be right". Now I'm experiencing it! D:

It always freaked me out too, but it hasn't been a big deal so far. :P
Wow, 14. I'm glad the longest one I've had was like 8, I think.

aaaalright freaking out phase #2 now. My periods always last longer than 10 days D: I mean, just small specks here and there but it's not stopping so it's still period.

Well spotting isn't a huge deal, sometimes I'll have off-colored discharge for almost a full week after, which is irritating. (Like come on, I know you're done, just go away so I can stop wearing pantiliners. -_-)
Anyways, this is USUALLY when you need to worry http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/menorrhagia/basics/definition/con-20021959
I'm not an expert on periods, once again, but it doesn't sound too worrisome to me. Like I said, if it's freaking you out that bad, a visit to the gyno will clear things up :)

I'll get periods like that about 2 or 3 months out of the year. I enjoy it. It's a nice break from my normal heavy flow. :P

I know some people who are like that :( thanks for the info.
As for @Blood... whoa. I didn't even know that's normal. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Mine were a lot heavier and longer when I was younger like 11 till about 16 and now they're not so heavy and only really last 4/5 days which is absolutely fab for me.
But I wouldn't worry if it's shorter this month that's just a nice bonus but if you are worried about it go to the doctor, they'll be happy to just give you advice.
