Well I started to try working out yesterday and just doing light work outs like

Planks
Push ups
and jumping jacks

Is it OK to feel slight sore after working out your first time in months?
And would it be OK to workout again today?

I'd say wait for a day before doing any of the same exercises, especially if you're new or haven't exercised in a long time.

first one: yes.
second one: it's okay if you're only slightly sore but it looks like you should wait a day.

Feeling sore is good.

Don't work out the same muscles two days in a row in less you only worked them lightly the day before, you build muscle on rest days so its important to allow them to recover. Every other day though should be fine.

Whenever we exert ourselves a lot, we not only produce lactic acid, which can cause aches in the muscles; it can also cause small tears in our muscle fibres. The latter can cause pain in our muscles also. If we exert ourselves too frequently, it can cause a delay in our recovery times. The best thing is to allow sufficient time for the healing to occur, or else you risk taking a step back in progress, or even injuring yourself too much.

Hope that helps.
