Revenge

Prologue
The toilet door slammed open. "Gracie-Belle May, I know you're in here!" I heard a voice giggle from outside my cubicle. I grabbed onto my bag tight making sure it didn't drop in the filthy toilet. Knocks echoed around the room as the group of girls tapped on each door, trying to catch me out.

I saw a clump of shadows outside the cubicle I was hiding in. Whispers were being exchanged before their shadows spread out. I breathed a sigh of relief, thinking I hadn't been caught by one of the many notorious cliques who seem to be intent on hurting me. Just as I repositioned myself, two faces popped up from above me.

"Taking a dump are we?" they all grinned bef-

I woke up with a fright in a hospital bed, with my sister beside me. Spotting a mirror across the hallway, I jumped up and looked at myself. I still had limp, thin black hair, a beak of a nose, and irritatingly thin lips.

"Gracie, you and your desire for a gorgeous face, my god. Anyway, Doc says that you can be operated on next week, but he'd like to keep you in for the night just to check how you're doing. I don't know why you insist on plastic surgery, you like fin-" she starting to laugh halfway during her sentence.

I looked back at her, feeling hurt and ashamed. I slumped into the strange smelling bed covered my ears with the thin pillow.

Chapter 1
''Gracie, you pile of skin and bones, wake up this instant!" a voice boomed. I hadn't woken up properly, so you can imagine how daunting it was. My eyes started to widen, and I was immediately frightened. It was my mom, standing in a pair of red leggings with a white t-shirt and a pair of white converse. I sat up, startled. How did she know I was having plastic surgery?

''You stupid girl! Plastic surgery? What would pa say? He'd whip you into shape, that's what he'd do. Not that you'd be any other shape than a damn skeleton. Get up now before I freaking well make you!" she screamed.

I saw a doctor as well as a security guard rush towards us. Not surprising, as the fiasco going on was quite horrendous and most likely disturbed other peace-fully sleeping patients.

"Ms. Smith, is everything ok? We can remove this lady if you'd li-" the doctor was interrupted by my ma's incredibly vulgar language. It'd be rude to tell you what she said, so I'll give you a watered down version.

"You unpleasant piece of faecal matter, what on earth do you mean by 'this lady'? What utter rubbish. This lady is the woman who pleasantly gave birth to this girl, going through hours of labour to push this delightful young lady out of my nether regions.''

My ma was then hauled out, kicking, making death threats, and pointing at me shouting curses. She was literally dragged; a person of her size would occasionally be taken out for their afternoon walk using a crane and a huge amount of force.

After a brief period of relief, fear began to fill my mind. How did my ma know about the surgery I was going to have? I didn't have any friends who could have blabbed to her. Or any cousins. Just as I was going through the list of possible blabbers, my sister walked into the ward with sunglasses on and a bagel in her hand.

"How could you? You twisted idiot. How could you? Then you stroll into the room with sunglasses on like it's freaking Miami. It's Winter, most likely 30 degrees Fahrenheit yet you walk in like a high-flying socialite. Get a life and don't speak to me again." I practically screamed at her.

I'm going to leave this hospital asap. I can't stand it.
