What could I do?

In August I will be attending college about an hour away from my high school. My girlfriend of 7 months is a junior. I cannot have a car my first year either. I love her and want to stay with her, but also want to enjoy college and not be tied down. Personally, I like the idea of an open relationship. However, I don't think she would go for it.

Has anyone been in an open relationship? How did it work/turn out? Any advice?

I don't understand open relationships unfortunately, but from what I read here and there, it's the kind of relationship that allows one another to go out with someone else? What's the point of having a relationship then?

Leaving the open relationship option aside, you have two options:
A) Put feelings aside and realize your study should be top priority. Leave her, you'll meet someone new.
B) Engage on LDR mode, only until you can have a car.

LDR stands for Long Distance Relationship. And honestly, I think it would be better to broke up with her than having an "open relationship", since you think she wouldn't go for it.
