So the problem is my little brother who's 10 is starting to learn about sex shit at school and I kinda feel like its my responsibility to explain it to him more clearly. For starters, my parents are the protective type who dont really want us to know about this shit or at least try to prevent us for as long as possible which makes me have to be the one to teach my little brother. For me I learned all this by myself and I was lucky though because I didn't have this other problem to conflict me and plus I'm kinda more smarter and less gullible like my little brother. So this problem is that he goes to a catholic school. My parents aren't at all catholic but they felt like we should go there so that we could become better kids or some shit like that idk haha I saw no difference. Anyways, I never had a problem because when I went there we didn't have to learn any of this sex shit so it didn't really bother with me, I just worried about that stuff by myself at home. However, now they're actually teaching all this now so I want to kind of explain my brother what's actually what so he doesn't seem so confused or follow all that bs [ no offense to any of you ] that the church tries to enforce on you. Basically my question is how should I approach my brother about all this? Like they sent home a packet as to what they were planning in teaching the kids so should I just explain it off of that and kind of just edit it so it cleans off the church ideals? They also mention masturbation and legit like everything else. I'm just a little worried because my brother is clueless, like he has no idea for this stuff. So idk can somebody help me lol

I don't get the question. He's your brother. How would someone else know how you are supposed to talk to him if you don't?

Well it's awesome that you care enough to take this into your own hands. But I'd say just read the packet, and try to just tell him the stuff that you knew when you were his age, and he can learn more along the way. And especially since he's gullible, you shouldn't butter it up or dumb it down too much, because that might just confuse him. Hope I helped, good luck.

He's your brother- do what you feel would help him the most. I'd say your ideas are already pretty good. Best of luck. :)

Oh okay now I get it, sorry. I think stuff like that is best taught at home by a willing teacher. Like JDubs said, show an interest in the packet and talk it over with him. I'm sure if I had a brother 5/6 years older then me, he'd be the one who i'd come to with questions if he was open to it. But also like Jdubs said, don't overload him.

Just explain to him the basic...don't rush things since he's still young ;)

Whoa! I kinda want to know what's in that packet now. Born and raised Catholic and they never told us any bad crap about that!
