K, I know it's Tolkien and automatically it gets bumped up a notch, but they're not doing as great with The Hobbit as they did with the trilogy. I blame the idea of making a 300-page book into three films. I know that's the trend now, but if you don't have to cut parts but actually have to make up new shit, then you're better off with one or two. IMO Harry Potter barely got away with it with how much "sitting around in tents" there was in the first film, and the book actually does have the content to sustain two films.
Again, LOTR movies are always a treat, just seems like a bit of an overstatement to me lol.

I loved it when I saw it a few months ago at the ultra screen. It was definitely better than the first part. I do agree with you though Rith, LOTR will always be great, but so far I haven't been bored in either of the Hobbit movies so they can make as many movies as they want as long as it's entertaining.

I also thought the film is gonna be terrible because they're trying to make three films out of one book, but it exceeded my expectations. I think it's an entertaining film regardless. But then again, I am easily pleased.

It's a good movie but too long for a single book

I saw it with a friend. I didn't like it. I requested to leave the movie early and I went home.
I don't really like Tolkien. His books are so confusing to read. I don't like high fantasy at all - I find it to be a rather pretentious, overblown genre. (Tolkien imitators such as Christopher Paolini are even worse.) You guys might disagree, and I'm okay with that, but I can't stand the high fantasy genre.
