So May 27th is my 18th birthday, last birthday in my town and farewell party with my three close friends whom I would leave as I jet off to the US for college. I figured the celebration should be special but I'm rubbish with party ideas. The only thing I have in my head right now is either sitting around at a fish restaurant or an all-out pillow fight =|

so yeah if you're a creative person, come down here and help me :) x

P.S: I figure at least one person would break down crying in the party. It really is supposed to be a rather sad party. I mean, it's a farewell party... what do you expect, right? But the thing is I'm apathetic. I don't feel feelings. It doesn't mean I won't miss these folks though! So what do you do when people around you started sobbing because you're leaving, and you really can't cry along?

As I'm a very emotional person I cannot relate to the part with the not crying along. But I guess giving a hug should be possible?

Otherwise are there any special places...that you all like, where you have shared a certain memory, together? Maybe you should integrate something like that into your celebration?
And as already mentioned take lots of pics...
I dunno if you are more the active type or if you like more quiet...but I guess you party should have more parts...the actual birthday party that could be at a restaurant if you like...and then the farewell part that should be more intimate and should be made of things that are meaningful to you and your friends.

And I guess you should do some farewell gift for your friends....maybe something with the pics you take at that party and give it to them when you really leave for the US then.

Do I make sense in my posting? I'm sick and run a fever...so if its weird and confusing tell me and I try to do better, lol.

yes you're making a whole lot of sense. I think it's a good idea to have separate parties rather than jamming all of them up into one event. I already thought of giving each of them a poem that delivers the message "we may be apart but I'd still look out for you", but I guess I should attach a pic as well.

Thanks loads and get well soon! x

I think 2 parties are better - and I like the poem idea.

Just make sure you can all stay in touch - email or even a proper letter is good as well.

best wishes,
