I absolutely hate that Hershel is no longer with us on the Walking Dead. Personally, I feel that it was a mistake for the writers to kill him off in season 4. I would have loved to see Hershel at terminus with the rest the group and how he would have handled that situation. So, what are your thoughts? Do you think they should have kept Hershel on the show?

It's always sad when big characters are killed on the show, but that's what makes the show great as well.
The writers dare to make significant changes to the cast and continue to move the story along. I get very sick and tired of most shows when there's all sorts of crazy action and drama and killing, but somehow none of the major characters die. That's just not realistic. Most movies are the same way.
I was actually surprised and disappointed that nobody was killed off in the season finale. I can't wait to see Michonne and Carl get it. I don't like either of them.

Hershell was an awesome character...but him being killed off was so shocking and only increased my love for the show.

Sure it's sad, but it's part of what makes TWD....well, TWD. Honestly there wasn't much more they could've done with Hershel's story, and they would've just been keeping him on simply for the sake of keeping him on. His death effects all the other characters and forces some development and changes.

I can't wait to see Michonne and Carl get it. I don't like either of them.

This hurts me in my soul.

Why don't you like Carl or Michonne?

I think the fact that Hershel died was appropriate, because in first place it stays true to the comics (apparently that's very hard for the show writers) and secondly because Hershel is a "good" influence on Rick, and without that we will clearly see some change on Rick.

but the comics are quite a lot different to the show...

That is the inconformity in have with the show, I firmly believe that the comics are way better, and the fact that they want to be independent from the comics yet still are following many of the comic events just doesn't feel right to me.

Why don't you like Carl or Michonne?

Carl is a little whiny bitch boy. He seems to think he's all that but he clearly is not.
And Michonne, when she came on, she had no dialogue of substance and no back story to really make me care about her or form a bond with her. Now they started to give back story almost 2 full seasons later, but now I'm to the point where I don't care and am more interested in other people's stories.
They both need to go!

Yeah, I mean I wish it was someone else, but I'm fine with it considering practically no one's favourite character is safe and theoretically, other deaths could put off the death of the characters I really couldn't stand dying. I really wish they'd throw Rick out already; I can't stand him, but obviously they won't do that.
