View Full Version : Extreme anxiety attacks out of the blue

For a couple of days now I feel really terrible. I feel sick and anxious, like I'm on the verge of getting a panic attack.
There haven't been any changes going on in my life and I don't expect anything to happen. Usually this feeling is triggered by major changes in my life. But now, it just happens out of the blue and I don't know why.
I'm bipolar, so maybe there's a connection, but still never had this extreme anxiety out of nowhere, before. My only trusted therapist is on vacation for this whole week till after Easter, I'm feeling really terrible...I'm shaky and have a constant bad feeling in my guts.
I feel like freaking out every minute and that for the third day in a row now.
I can't even concentrate on describing my symptoms here as I feel way to bad to focus on anything.

That happened to me recently, I had a really bad panic attack annd all my trusted people were away and uncontactable. And I also get that it's impossible to focus on anything, you just can't do it. In fact I think it's better for you not to focus on anything and to do your best to distract yourself. Also try breathing exercises, yoga, and general activity. I'm guessing that you feel that you're by yourself, but you're not, you have all of us :) You can talk to me whenever if you want and you can always blog or make a thread. Take things one day at a time - you could use your blog to make a diary entry each day and to count down the days to when your therapist gets back.

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago.
I actualy felt better by simply turning off devices, breathing out really deeply, and just get in bed with tea or something, and don't get out to do something, just relax and read a book in bed or something.

Agree with both these guys. Either route could work. I've found that unplugging from the internet and playing videogames/watching shows for a few days helped me the most.
Like Tara said, we're here for ya :) Best of luck, hope things go by fast so you can get talking to your therapist again. I'm in sort of the same situation, but they upped my medication, so I think I'll be ok.

My friend who has Bi-polar has anxiety to the point she dropped out of school for a year and didnt leave the house unless i was around but trust me you just need to face this head on and go out and try to ignore it my friend finds listening to music while out helps or just chill out and relax for a few more days untill your therapist comes back just remember that it cant harm you unless you think about it and let it take you over so just try stay happy and relax also there are cheap anxiety pills you can buy from herbals stores :)

Thank you all for nice words and tips. I feel slightly better and I'm feeling more positive again.
