Hey, I'm a 17 year old girl wanting some advice about sexuality. Basically I have never been with a girl or a guy before but I'm really confused about my sexual orientation. I have this friend who is bi (female) who I have a crush on and I have no idea what to do about it, I doubt she would ever consider me. I've had "girl crushes" before that weren't serious but this time is different :/ Has anyone else had this before? I like guys too.

have you ever had a crush with a boy before? If you don't then you're probably gay instead of bi.

Not necessarily.
Sexual curiosity is very common during puberty, which doesn't end until you're about 20 or 21. A lot of times teens feel sexually and/or emotionally attracted to the same sex; if you're feeling emotionally attracted to another girl it's possible you could be bisexual, but it could also be that you are still going through puberty and have hormonal changes going on. Either way I wouldn't worry about it.

I have gone through this, still kind of am. Since I am a virgin and I have had no action or relationships really before. This has made me a bit confused about my sexuality, for a little bit I didn't know if I was straight or bi. But I know now that I am straight, but I am open to experiment.

She said at the end that she likes guys. So while my first assumption is bisexual, it doesn't mean much. I mean, I don't identify with a label, but I've had people INSIST I was straight, or gay, or bisexual, or pansexual, let the girl decide for herself, eh? Liking girls does not automatically mean gay, liking guys does not automatically mean straight, liking both does not automatically mean bisexual. Sexuality is more complicated than that.
Not necessarily.

Exactly. And in the end, labels are really just a way to explain yourself- you might decide none of the labels mentioned here fit, you might decide no labels fit at all. Don't sweat it too much. :)

You are what you are. Try not to get too hooked up on labels and working out if you're bi or straight or what. Are you more often attracted to males than females or are your crushes on females just as frequent as they are for males? Many people on this forum are curious in their sexuality and are not 100% straight so don't worry if you are not 100% straight as it's perfectly normal to want to experiment a bit.
