What's "Frozen"?

I noticed that some members are 'frozen'. Are they like... dormant? Not banned, but not able to actively post either? Why would we need that?

It happens when you get too much infractions, you are frozen for some time (normally a week, I think), and you can't post during that time. We have it because it's a way to encourage users to follow the rules, basically.

Also when there is an underage member.

We can also freeze spammers, trollers, etc., basically extreme cases, so that they can't post until a senior staff member comes along to ban them.

But more commonly, you're probably seeing members frozen because of what Albert and Tiago said, since it usually doesn't take long for a senior staff member to ban an account if need be.

But yes, the status prevents the user from posting, but it's not quite banning them. Freezing is always temporary.

Absolutely, if you have things going on in your life or you just want to get away from VT for awhile. It's not too common, but it does happen.
