I had this idea for a website and I want to bounce it off of you, and see what you think.
It's kinda like LinkedIn, but for talented individuals and groups. Basically you sign up for an account, as a 'talented user' or a 'scout user'.
Talented users, (eg pianists, singers, magicians, photographers) can sign up and get a profile which can act as their own personal 'portfolio'. They can upload evidence of their work and also categorize their work into different 'tiers' - amateur, professional, etc.
Scout users, (people looking for somebody talented) sign up for a profile, as you would a talented user, and can post requests on 'job boards' - basically forums. People could post work they need doing, eg a band for a wedding, an actor for a TV advert, a photographer for a party, things like that.
Everyone can freely view other profiles, send direct messages, and friend other users. Talented users can filter themselves into groups depending on their talent and scout users can then use those groups to help find individuals.
What do you all think of this idea?
