So every 6th grader, 9th grader and 12th grader (me!) in my country has to go through national examinations in order to graduate. In case it's not obvious yet, national exam is an exam created, held and scored by the government. Schools can't do nothing about them except prepare us students as well as they could. The thing is; when you're holding an exam for the entire student population in a single country, leaks are bound to happen. Answer keys are sold everywhere for a ridiculously high price (ranging from US$3000 to US$10000) and students, including the ones in my school, are lining up to buy them. The thing is no one knows whether this answer key is authentic or not. It's basically a gamble. If you win then you get perfect score. If you lose, well.. disgrace to your school's name and one more year in high school.

If you're a student in my country, would you purchase an answer key or would you study? (considering how you can collect money from everyone in your school who also wants to buy an answer key, and get the price divided by that number) Why?

Absolutely not. First of all - holy SHIT that is expensive. What high school student has that much credit or cash?

Second - There's the fact that not only could you fail because it's fake, but if you were caught you'd be expelled. And it's probably illegal in some way.

Third - Even if you did buy one, you should also study because if the answers ended up wrong (You easily pick out one you know for sure and compare it to the key) you'd at least have a shot.

Fourth - Where's the fun in cheating? The exams can't be THAT hard.

Study, for sure. Those answer keys aren't 100%, so I'd rather take my chances with my knowledge alone.

Also, ain't nobody got $3000 to spend on some answer key, when you could easily buy a $15 study guide.

:) faith in humanity restored.

Money is not a problem here in my school because there are TONS of students who want it so they split up the price and last news I heard; each student ended up only paying about... err.. oh that's a shame now I can't remember D: but it's FAIRLY (fairly, not really) cheap. Plus my school is full of spoiled rich bastards x

Wow, buy the answer key? And that quite openly...so what's the purpose of going to school then.
I'd never do that even if I could afford to buy it, I'd study and if I don't pass my fault then. it would be like failing if I just passed because of this key for me anyway.

There's no point in graduating and not knowing shit by cheating on an exam that's supposed to assess on how far you've came/learned, because if you do you've basically just wasted your time in school. I'd just study and work on that to be honest.

I too would doubt the authenticity of the answers and would probably not try to buy them. I think there'd be a high chance of getting caught too.

I'd like to have the mark scheme but it seems best in this case just to prepare for it.

I'd definitely study, since even if I do get a perfect score. I wouldn't feel like I've actually earned it and it would make me feel awful morally. Buuuut, thats just me
