It may probably sound very stupid but well, here I go.
I got hurt rather badly during playing baseball and now my ribs hurt pretty bad. I don't really think they are broken but there's a good deal of bruising and dunno, every movement hurts, taking a deep breath kinda hurts and so on. It didn't really hurt that much ad it happened so I didn't tell our coach.
As it got worse my friend suggested I should see a doctor and that's where the real problem starts. The doctor I usually go to has known me for quite a while now and treated similar injuries I had when my father used to hit me. So if I go there now he'll probably think Dad has hit me again and that I wad just lying about my sports injury. I'm afraid he won't believe me and start some actions. I really don't feel like this kind of drama right now...been there, done that.

I could go to some other doctor...But honesty I never feel comfortable around doctors and I'm at a total loss which one to choose.

Maybe I should just wait till the pain goes away on its own and not go anywhere at all.
It's really bugging me and I've been awake the whole night playing different scenarios in my head...

Well now that I've written it down it seems totally ridiculous.

Well you should definetly go.
That kind of injury could be really serious.
Just be honest to your doctor I guess?

I know this sounds too extreme, but my brother's classmate fell down and felt some pain on his ribs. He was too afraid to tell his mom so pretended he was fine. Well now he wears this chest support that looks a lot like that life vest you find under your seat on airplanes. He's been wearing that for months and there is still no sign of him ever taking that chest support off. I don't know what happened to this boy but I certainly don't want that to happen to you.

Please, see your doctor. If he has known you for a while why can't he trust you? Doctors tend to be good at reading lies anyways. If you look at him right in the eye and say it confidently he would believe you I'm sure.

You still should see your doctor. It's your health at stake anyway, it doesn't matter if he believes you or not. Just go there, be honest, tell him what happened and if he doesn't believe, you can always tell a friend of yours to go there and also tell him and same. He will probably notice, when examining the injury, that it's more likely to be caused by an incident playing sports than by someone hitting you, so don't worry. (:

What about the school nurse?

Yeah, been to the school nurse...she gave me some amazing pain-killers. And as I said luckily there's nothing broken.

A doctor should not have much trouble telling what kind on injury you have. Like whether or not it is what you say it is and whether or not you're making something up and if you're telling the truth or lying.

Yeah see a doctor and you'll be given an xray. It's always best to be safe by seeing a doctor when there's pain and you don't know what to do about it. Don't worry about xrays, they are actually incredibly safe.
