I wouldn’t i don’t trust those leaks.

There are other well-known services that can do the same functionality, so best not to click on untrusted links. The sentiment and goodwill of spreading awareness about data security can be taken at face value as a good gesture though.

No; because clicking the link is already past the point of no return, if it’s a data harvesting strategy that’s hurting people in online digital spaces.

Avoid avoid avoid is the only effective strategy one can use for stuff like this.

I recommend everyone take a basic data security computer class. I took one a few years back as part of a summer camp program and it was life-changing.

As a digital marketing major, data leaks are a real concern in the industry.

Still, you shouldn't click at random links to 'check' because most of them are unsafe and used for non-consensual data harvesting.

You'll see when for sure your account info has been leaked when you start recieving random requests on social media often, scam mail and other stuff.

My insta @ has been going around the Russian market for a while and I was bombarded by random Russian pages asking me for stuff (in Russian). Haven't seen those for a while though. Almost all of my adresses are on some scammer mailing lists too.

My advice is to enable 2FA on all your e-mail and social media accounts. Then if someone even manages to obtain the access codes, you can act accordingly. Ever since I did that, I stopped having my account entered by bogus people. Once my e-mail containing credit card info was breached but no damage has been done. I was suspicious since the breach happened from an IP adress in my city so I enabled 2FA. Could possibly be local government surveilance. They do that sometimes.

Also don't click on anything in mails that look like spam/neesletters if you did not subscribe to them.
