What’s your favourite book from when you were below the age of 12? A nice adventure story perhaps, or even a simpler picture book.
I’ve got a few:
Swallows and Amazons
Robinson Crusoe
Treasure Island
And... of course... all the Harry Potter books

Yeah I got told his fairytales to. And The Brothers Grimm.
I know when I was really little I love "we're going on a bear hunt". So much that I could "read" it (because I knew all the words) before I could actually read

The very hungry caterpillar
The three little pigs
Mr Men and Little miss books
All easy to read in one night and not too challenging

Me too!!! I love Dr Suess.
My understanding is that it was just a few that had some outdated cultural racial stuff or something and that "they" are the actual Dr. Seuss estate simply decided to stop publishing those ones.
Oh and the Narnia books i liked a lot too. :)

The Narnia books are fantastic. C.S.Lewis was one of the best authors of all time in my view
