I’ve noticed this problem since I got a VPN a little while ago that my WiFi seems really patchy on the devices I use my VPN on. It disconnects from WiFi frequently in a way that it probably shouldn’t and the connection is often slower, not when I’m actually using the VPN, but in the time afterwards.

Do you think this is a direct connection? Or a coincidence and I should just get my WiFi box checked out or replaced?

Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

That's so cliche. But actually the best advice. It really can fix a lot of problems with data that can get cached and just needs a reset

I’ll give it a go and see if it makes any difference

What kind of VPN do you use? VPNs can slow your connection.

I don't know that one specifically, but some VPNs have different payment tiers where paying more gives you access to higher speeds (i.e. they won't slow it down as much). And VPNs can just be dodgy depending on which server they're connecting to (some servers work better than others).

Maybe I should pay for a higher tier then... as my wifi has continued to be a bit slow recently
