Kinda shocked and unsure

Ok, this guy I know found out that I self harm (hes a bit older than me) he saw the cuts on my arms by accident and I told him I have been doing it for a while and am trying to stop it but its hard to just quit doing it.
Anyway, he says to me its kinda cute and he wants to watch me do it, I didn't know what to say and it freaked me out a bit, Ive never told anyone I do it and always tried to keep it a secret, but I like him, and was thinking if I am going to do it again does it matter if he sees now that he knows and likes it?
but it would be weird right? I bet its not something people do or do they?
Im not sure what to do or say to him but I know he wouldn't tell anyone about it, im confused with this.

Before we go any further try to think about this: you cutting yourself is you doing bodily harm to yourself.

Would you enjoy watching another person either a complete stranger or someone you care about physically injuring themselves?

Probably not because enjoying something like that is completely not normal by moral and pscyhological standards.

If you are really serious about trying to stop do not let him watch. Especially since you said you like him. If you let him watch you will be giving your behaivour positive reinforcement and you might even start associating cutting with this person and your affection for him.

I would really question the motives behind this person... Psychologically there could be many disturbing things there.

If you are serious about stopping then just tell him that. You are glad he isn't freaked out or something similar but you really want to stop doing it so you don't want anyone to watch.

I know someone that cuts himself and there is no way I would want to see him do it, that would be sick!

If you care about someone you wouldn't encourage then to do it you would try and help them stop.

If he wants to see you cutting your self up he must have something seriously wrong with himself, he sounds dangerous to me, gawd you need to watch yourself with him.

very bad idea if he doesnt care enough about u to support and help u stop let alone watching u do it then hes doesnt really care about u and u shouldnt go out with him

Yeah sorry to put it bluntly that's fucked up and he probably needs to seek some help too. Personally I'd advise you to stay away altogether even though you like him because it sounds like a friendship would probably be quite damaging especially if you're serious about trying to stop.
Cutting yourself is not kinda cute, watching someone cut themselves is not kind of cute or a normal desire. Please don't strike up a friendship with this guy I really really don't think it's safe.

Thanks for your replies, im confused about it, i don't know why he wants to see me do it im worried now about what you have said about him being dangerous or something, but hes really nice to me, hes never tried to hurt me or anything.
I guess it is strange, i like him a lot, i was going to show him yesterday but it felt weird and i went home.

If someone thinks that something as serious as self harming is cute then I think he must have a lot of problems himself.
Its almost like he is encouraging you to hurt yourself, it sounds quite dangerous.
It could get a lot worse, you could even be cutting yourself just to please him.
Don't let anyone do that to you.
