1. Being strange isn't necessarily a bad thing
2. They should be saying you're cute ;)

But to some of the girls who've said they don't get complimented on looks, we guys get shy and we're sometimes afraid of being seen as perverts so we pay attention to personality and other things instead. Just remember that to some guy, you're stunningly beautiful.

I've gotten "you're so pretty" a few times as well, which never hurts :P
