For me, although I'm not friends with this guy, I know him and he's a real nice guy. He has cancer, and will probably die soon. No one else has died in my school, although someone died a year before I got to the school. Has anyone from your school died? Or another kid that you knew somehow? What was your relationship with them? I've had two online friends that have died too. How did the school react?

A girl died at my elementary school, I think probably before I attended it. She was hit by a car riding her bike.

Oh, and if we're including teachers, one of the teachers at my elementary school fell and hit her head on concrete. She died a few days later.

A guy at my school that was two years older than me died in a car crash. Then, two years ago, a kid in one of my classes died of lung cancer. I didn't really know any of them, but it was still sad that they died so young.

One of the kids I used to go to school with died August last year. I worked with him as well- he was the son of one of the department managers. He was a nice kid.

In my primary school, a boy died while playing soccer. He was only five years old, I think he had a heart attack or something. I didn't know him very well, but we were too young to know what death was anyway.

In my middle school, one of my teachers committed suicide, due to some family problems, involving a divorce, from what I know. She died only some weeks after school had begun, so we didn't know her very well too. Some days after, a girl (that I didn't know at all) also committed suicide, apparently from the pressure her parents were putting on her to get good grades.

One of the girls in the year above, or something around that, jumped off a bridge and got hit by a train. There's been a few suicides at my school, most of them I was unaware of, but this girl hit the school hard.

Few years ago, 2 seniors died... it was hard on everyone, one of them was the class president and he was loved by everyone, nicest guy you'll ever meet... they were working on a farm and a raccoon got in one of the pipes they were lifting and they put it vertically to try and get it out...they didn't see that one of those wires from telephone poles were there, so the pole hit it and they got electrocuted.

sadly yes... a girl in my school died during open-heart surgery. Ive never talken to her, but to this day I feel a heavy load of grief for her. She was so young, and she was taken so early. From what I hear from others she was a very nice girl, now she's gone.

No students I've known have died; however, a kid was known to have crossed the street from the dorm side to the school side and got hit by a truck. Thus, a tunnel was built underneath the highway linking the two sides to prevent that from happening again.

As far as teachers, The Director of Academic at my school passed of a heart attack several after retiring immediately before the school year began, and the college counselor, who was also my personal advisor, died due to complications with pancreatic cancer about two months into the school year.

A couple of kids from my school died, one in a car accident on his way to school, one girl from a head injury after she fell down the stairs at home. Another guy overdosed on drugs. I knew them all but wasn't really close.

Oh, and two others committed suicide, when they were older and had left school already.

I sat next to a girl in my biology class who I made quite good friends with. She was a really good girl. When I came back from winter break, I heard that her and her boyfriend died in a car accident while they were gone. It was such a horrible feeling.

A junior high school student passed on due to brain illness of some sort when I was in elementary school. I didn't know her though.

As for teachers; my homeroom teacher passed on due to cancer when I was in 3rd grade. She's an amazing person. A chemistry teacher in my current school passed on just a month ago or so, also due to cancer. I didn't get the pleasure to know her unfortunately but everybody says she was a great teacher.

Freshman year I lost one of my best friends. She went to school with me and we used to play soccer together, that's how we met. Well, my freshman year, she had a seizure on christmas day and died. It was her first one ever. And to top it all off, her 16th birthday was christmas eve.

Easter break that year, our school lost a senior. Him and some of his friends had went to the beach and the rip current pulled him under.

Sophomore year, another one of my friends died. He was working under his car when the jack that was holding it up broke, causing his car to fall on him and killing him instantly.

Then junior year a girl I've known since 3rd grade died from a brain tumor.

When I was about 11, a boy in the school I went to died. There was a storm, and I think he and his father was going to check on their boat or something so he was behind his dad on his motorcycle. A tree fell right between them and the kid died. He was eight.

Looking at the school I'm attending now, a guy in my class was stabbed four times two weeks ago. One of his lungs was punctured, and his spleen and two muscles were destroyed. Fortunately he survived and is doing well.

A boy in the year below me drowned a couple of years ago, I didn't know him but I did know his best friend so it was really sad. The boy couldn't swim too well and he went too far out in the water one afternoon, loads of people were there and he just went missing apparently, they didn't find his body for a while :(

Also my old Art teacher, I had him in year 8 and he died in year 9. He was quite old so we thought it was an illness, but it was a jet ski accident :(

In my school there was a girl who suddenly died from a rare disease. It was very awkward for me, as I had never even talked to her, and to be surrounded by people who are talking about it all day, and having to listen to teachers and priests talk about how sad we all are (and try to sell their religion in the process) it gets a little tiring after a while.

Other people in my school have died in different years and times, and my school is now running out of places to put commemorative benches for them.

A couple of people I know of died at my school.
a guy commited suicide by jumping in front of a train, a girl who died from some sort of braincancer.

And probably the most horrifying, 2 girls I slept with in the same room at some camp a couple years ago died. 1 got hit in the neck or head (don't remember) with a golfclub per accident by a family member who didn't see she was walking behind him when he swung his club, 1 from a combination of drugs / alcohol I think. I didn't know them very well, but the fact that 2 out of 6 girls in that room at camp have died scares me a bit sometimes.

Reading through this made me really sad.
I'm fortunate enough to be able to say that no one in my school has ever died, that I know of. There have been a few near-death accidents, all of which hit the school hard, some of which we're still trying to deal with.
The truth is that these tragedies happen every day, which you see in this thread, and I'm finding them very hard to fathom at the moment.

My eighth grade year a sophomore died on a bus wreck on on his way home from a football game. The same year my cousin died from an overdose. Even though he was technically not enrolled in school. Last year (my freshman year) a senior girl died in a wreck. Finally this year my friend, whom I was in love with, and his brother passed in a car wreck. I loved him so much. I still cry thinking about him. I'm tearing up as I write this. I'm getting a tattoo for him when I turn 16. My school' starting last year will by the time I graduate have had one student per class (with the exception of next years class with two students gone) not attending graduation. It's so sad, you always hear about these things happening, but you don't really pay attention until it happens to someone you know.

My best friend since kindergarden I grew up with, played with, caused trouble with, did teen thing with, played basketball, basketball, and track with died in frount of me. He had a problem I can not discribe and he decided to not take them. We were playing cards after our basbaball game and he seizured and i saw it and his dad saw it and called the EMS, I am not gay but when he was on streacher I got to tell him I will see him soon and hugged him. He died 2 hours later. We were 9 years old and I was upset with GOD. His parents called me over cause I was too upset at EVERYTHING. They told me what happened and asked me about his meds and I told them he stopped takeing them. OOPS that is why he died and something else. They had a suit out for him at the funeral and I told them Mick and I talked about death because of our Catholic schooling and I told him what I would wear when I died and he did to . So UI told his parents and he was in dress pants a whith dress t shirt with the St. Christopher Necklace strung out over his head and on his chest witha a dress shirt open. SADDIST DAY IN MY LIFE SO FAR.

I believe a 16/17 year old boy committed suicide sometime in 2008... I didn't know him.

And also in April this year a 16 year old girl from my school was murdered by her boyfriend and she was actually pregnant at the time.

Actually..

Now that I think about it..

When I was a freshman in highschool roughly 4-5 years ago? a girl in her senior year went behind the school where there are railraod tracks.

But typically that area is fenced off, so she somehow slipped past the broken area and wait for a train to hit her.

I remember I was in history class, a student from my class runs in saying someone just got hit by a train.

Its kind of sad, because that girl looked really bright, and I was in orchestra class with her, she played the violin heck of a lot better than I did, and now all those years have past, and her life can never be reclaimed back ever again.

The next day, school continued like any other day, and this incident was never mentioned ever again.

The next day, school continued like any other day, and this incident was never mentioned ever again.
It's sad that it was never mentioned again. I hope it's not because nobody cared.

There's a handful of people from school over the years who've passed for various causes. But I lost one of my very best friends last year unexpectedly :( literally the worst thing I've ever had to deal with. The support from everyone at school has been insane from his passing, it's helped so much

Yeah, a girl I knew and was in choir with got stabbed to death and bled out outside her home one year.

Then a friend's brother got hit by a bus.

And another girl jumped in front of a subway train.

Also, my math teacher died of cancer the day before my birthday. I heard on my birthday, and I was at home when I heard and a friend came all the way from school to give me a hug.

Man, I think that these things just need to be talked about.

I think that sometimes it's alright to talk about the bad things that happen, but I also think that you should move on from it after a while, don't look back on the bad things that happen, because if you keep looking back you might fall off a cliff.

About a year ago a guy from my grade at school died from a heart attack of all things. He was a smoker and had been a heavy drinker as well. That mixed in with an undetected heart condition resulted in a heart attack. He would have been 19 when he died.

High school kids die all the time, recently we had a kid who was killed by gunfire in a drug deal gone wrong. In a neighboring town 2 kids committed suicide in the same week, maybe day.

I only ever heard one. In year 8, a kid in year 12 committed suicide, apparently, the mood was very dull for the rest of the day, but because all the year 8 didn't know him, we didn't act appropriately...

Four people that were in my year have died. It's sad and scary at the same time! One of them had a heart attack at 17/18. Two of them had tumours of some sort or cancer and one went to sleep one night and didn't wake up. The boy that went to sleep and never woke up's best friend came to my Great Grandmothers funeral with my cousin as they were in a relationship, a few days after he died. The strength of the boy! Felt so bad for him that day because he was holding back the tears the whole time I was with him that day.

A boy in weights class in the 8th grade collapsed and died from a spontaneously.

My seventh grade English teacher died from leukaemia.

My good friend Abby killed herself in the 8th grade.

A guy I knew died from cancer in our sophomore year.

When I was a senior a freshman girl had her nude photos leaked and she later killed herself.

There were about 3 deaths in cars on the way to and from school over the 4 years in high school. It's a pretty small road for a large school.

I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones that I could remember.

I never experienced anything but this one kid in my math class had a seizure and it was scary as shit because i was sitting right next to him. Then my best friend passed out in band when he was dizzy and cracked his skull on a chair. Blood everywhere and he was in the hospital for a week and a half

Yes during summer vacation a boy who I wasn't really that close with, infact I had a rocky relationship with him, but we were both on the school softball team together.

I was invited to go to his cousins party and for some reason I had a feeling that told me don't go. So I didn't. I later hear in the news and on the papers they were playing with his dad's gun and it went off and he shot himself. :(

I'd rather not talk about it anymore but yes it's very sad. But that's LA for you. Lots of kids including myself just feel like we can always do what we want and not get any consequences.

In my Elementary school years, back in the first grade, a girl died. I was new so I did not know her, I only know that she was found in the park.

One year ago, a senior student on my high school committed suicide. I heard that he was mentally unstable and tried to do it years prior, he was treated, considered OK and just before the graduation, he hung himself. The reasons were not officially announced, but our teacher had a long talk about how we should not be too depressed by our grades, so I put one and one together.

It is always a sad business to lose someone, especially when you know you could have avoided it. :(

From school, two guys died in a hunting accident, and one of my best friends went nuts, stole her dads car, hit 3 telephone poles, and wound up in the hospital damn near dead.

Two of my cousins died in car accidents too. One was about 3 years older than me, but was like my best friend. He was riding his racing bike down a city road, and a semi truck t-boned him. He died on impact seeing as he was going about 200 mph
The other was 1/2 year older and was walking on the sidewalk, and his girlfriend was walking in the middle if the road. An SUV came speeding up behind her and he ran out and pushed her out if the way and got hit. He died a few days later after a lot if suffering in the hospital.

In my last year of elementary school, one kid who was in the same grade as me died. I wasn't friends with him, and I don't quite remember how he died although I think it had to do with something in his brain (?) but I believe he died in his sleep. He seemed like a nice kid though.
When I entered high school, I think a person did die also because I remember passing by a locker that had pictures of a girl and seemed like a memorial. However, my second year there was this one guy that died that I did know. I think we had talked a couple of times and he seemed like a nice person. I do not remember what happened to him though. A teacher, music I think, also died that year. I think he was extremely overweight, probably obese, so maybe it had to do something with that.
A year later, a boy in my AVID class (kinda like an english class) was shot in his home in the morning of a school day. I don't remember if it was gang related or if it was a home invasion. It was strange because like a week before, we did this thing in class where we would have a class discussion of some topic. My teacher thought it would be a good idea to record us discussing so that later we could see how to make the next discussion even better, and it turned out that instead, he recorded the boy still alive a few days before he died. I think he gave the tape to the boy's family.

When I was in the 8th grade a teacher in my school was murdered. She had her throat cut from behind when she was walking to her car from a grocery store and they never got the guy who did it or found out what his motivations are and they think he fled the country. Anyway, the whole school was hit really hard by it since she was a really nice art teacher and although I had only known her for maybe a month or so, this was in the beginning of the year and it was my first year at the school, I did know she was really nice and it really sucked for us all.

a girl i knew in 4th grade died of some rare disease and for some reason even though we were friendly it didn't have much of an impact. I guess i was too young to understand. A girl that i only slightly knew in 9th grade was killed in some freak boating accident over the summer and that had a much bigger effect.

Yeah, there was this boy named Jacob in my class who died of cancer back when I was in grade six, we were best friends.

The entire school did a whole pile of fundraisers for him and our class went of a field trip to visit him in the hospital.

Me and our other friend, Julia, shaved our heads together in support of him that year.

His parent's made a website called "Jacob's story".

A few years later, when I was in grade eight, there was another kid named Gabriel who got cancer in that school. But I don't know if he made it or not.

EDIT: I shouldn't be saying the word "commit" suicide. Just recently, a friend of my friend killed herself - suicide should never be a crime. Not sure how but I never knew them that well.....

In primary school a girl two years younger than me almost died, she landed on her neck while she was swinging on the monkey bars. But she's fine now.
