Not typically. I think sometimes it can be sore from having a constant blood flow to the penis for that long. I would say an erect penis for more than 3 hours could be painful. If that is the case you should see a doctor. :)

It was erect for nearly 2 hours but I was just wondering any longer could cause problems.

I don't think having a lasting erection could hurt someone. However in your case what might have happened was you hurt it somehow while sleeping or during the wet dream. Perhaps you were laying on it or something? I don't know it's just a theory. I wouldn't worry too much. If you notice unusually long erections or pain I might have it checked out but other than that I think you're fine.

the 4 hour deal is for people taking meds to give them erections, guys. those meds cause blood flow and if the erection remains, it means the penis isn't losing the blood flow. if your natural erection lasts beyond 3-4 hours, it's a much different situation. so, if you're concerned consult a doctor. if you're just annoyed, wait it out. if it's causing pain and ejaculation helps, rub one out.

Blue balls is caused when almost near orgasm but does not reach it insteads stop, 4 hour erections can be a real problem, and you should go to the doctor like right away or you could loose your penis.. (i researched this)
