View Full Version : Have you been called by Jehovah's Witnesses lately?

I don't know how it is with the rest of the world, but over here, in our small rock up north that nobody's heard of, we're getting bombed by calls from JW, and so has your truly. First time I wasn't at home. They left a message, asking me to call them back. Yeah. Fat chance. Second time I was embarrassingly polite, telling them thanks, but no thanks. Third time I started telling them about Allah, a fake god made up to justify violence and hatred about women. Seriously, when normal teen boys have wet dreams about girls, Muslims have wet dreams about stoning someone to death, but that's beside the point. Point is, I threw that shit at them, and they finally backed off. Finally.

So, my question is, have you been called by those sociopaths, and if so, how did you get rid of them? I wanna know. :)

I haven't been called by them fortunately. I guess the best way to get rid of them would be just to say thanks, but no thanks.

I'm glad to hear that. And yeah, but they always keep throwing arguments. I suppose just hitting the hangup button would do as well. :P

That's true. I mean I'm fine with people wanting to spread their religion, it's just they piss me off because they're so pushy.

Exactly, if they just accepted a no to begin with it would be okay.

Nope. Once I just talked to some of those folks of faith whilst strolling through a small town in the southwest of England. I felt sorry for them, because nobody else wanted to talk to them. Besides, with 15, I had my own atheist theories about faith and religion. And with whom can one better discuss such topics as with true believers?

I think at a certain point I became very missionary in my argumentation, which I only noticed afterwards, when my girlfriend pulled me away from the two witnesses. She then asked me if I hadn't noticed how this two individuals felt more and more uncomfortable the more I talked to them.

Suddenly this cognizance made me a bit upset, because back then I despised nothing more than people who tried to evangelize other people. Fortunately I later could forgive myself.

I've never experienced calls from them.

I live in a gated community, so they don't come around to proselytize either.

My mom is a devout Catholic and had a Jehovah's Witness friend. They used to have regular religious discussions.

I'm not a fan of those who try to push their beliefs on others. It's one thing to have a discussion/debate. It's one thing to provide information to someone who's interested. It's another to hound someone and be satisfied with nothing less than conversion.

No, nothing recently anyway. Did have some religious Christians knock on the door a year ago trying to sell there bible studies, apparently it's more important to believe there interpretation than actually read the book and get the actual (or your own) meaning to what's writen

I have an outfit like this for fun. I will be the one to open the door, when/if they come.

Yes these days it would be the safest to do. However I think JW would need a moment to consider how they should deliver the message, if I open like that in a bad mood

Here (Uruguay) they don't phone you, they directly show up at your home with bibles, religious magazines and stuff like that, looking to sell you something or convert you to their religion. They go door by door. Usually on Sundays. And usually around 7AM.

Normally they would go from door to door here as well, but I assume that even they are taking precautions because of the pandemic, and decide to call instead. :)

I never see them anymore. They used to be in my area constantly but over the last few years nothing so maybe they got the message?

When they show up at your door tell them politely that you are an adherent of Zorasterism or you worship Zeus or some other exotic religion. Maybe that should send them packing.

I'm surprised they changed there ways because of the pandemic, surely they trust that God will do what's right for them and social distancing and trying not to get the virus is interfering with God's plan?

Haven't seen any recently, but about a year ago I was on the train and my phone was out of charge so I borrowed this guys phone to call my dad to get him to pick me up. It turned out this guy, who at first seemed perfectly normal, was a Jehovah's witness and started offering leaflets and talking nonsense. Cause he'd just let me use his phone i felt like I couldn't say anything mean! Unfortunately I'd just given him my Dad's mobile and he got spammed with texts for the next month until I showed him how to block people!

Whats a quick way to get rid of Jehovah's Witnesses?

Ask them if they are here for the orgy.
