Territorial/Maritime Disputes

What can you say about the territorial/maritime disputes between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of the Philippines ( and maybe other nations) in the disputed areas/islands in the West Philippine Sea/South China Sea? ( In case if you know it) I'm from the latter country, and quite wants some opinion from other people outside of the main issue. And what can you say about the moves the US government are doing about it? Do you believe in resolving this in a diplomatic way or the other way around? And could you say about it's possible positive and negative effects to the countries involved and to the whole world as well?

P.S. Sorry it's too long, this just quite baffles my mind. hoping for your answers. Thanks!

Huh. I thought that was mostly just between Japan and China Never heard anything about the Philippines. But it's probably about money. Or oil. Or power. Or military leaders insecure about the size of their penises. It's always one of those things.
