In some countries like in the Philippines where I'm from, boys get circumcised at around age 9-12 as a "rite of passage" of some sort. It's more of a cultural thing than a health/hygiene thing.

Oh even Muslims get circumcise themselves at the age of twelve. I'm non Muslim. I wanted it done for hygienic purposes.

FYI circumcision cuts off many nerve endings and makes some on the sensitive glans die from being touched too much. It's not a factor of pain but rather your body readjusting to the procedure.

I had some foreskin removed at birth to keep down excess as I was told. Funny you mention the glans, mine are sensitive and I hate it sometimes. I may get circumcised one day, but as an independent adult. Yes, stitches are extremely tough and after a while dissolve into the flesh as a bond.
