I've dreaded this day, and today it happened. My all time favourite James Bond actor, Sean Connery, has passed away, 90 years old. Besides the role of our beloved, and not always politically correct 00-agent, Connery had an impressive amount of titles, such as Indy's dad, which will remembered and enjoyed for decades to come.
Rest in peace.

Yeah I just saw it, 15-20 minutes ago. Very sad, but unfortunately not surprising, given his age.

Very sad to hear it. He was a great actor who, through no fault of his own, possibly became too type-cast as James Bond. His other work was superb too.
He was apparently also a very generous and kind-hearted man. He will be sadly missed by me and literally millions of others worldwide.

Yes, already being in his late 60's, he was still badass in that movie.

Sean Connery was a true gentlemen, and the world really has a big loss with his death. Beyond "James Bond" Sean Connery did such great work in everything he did, and he was the pinnacle of coolness. Beyond all of that, my understanding is that Sean Connery was a genuinely nice person who had risen up from absolute poverty to become very successful without ever forgetting about his roots. He was definitely Scotland's ambassador to the world.
The "Celebrity Jeopardy" sketches on "Saturday Night Live" just will not be the same without his character now that Sean Connery has passed on.

Great actor, and a gentleman. I liked him a lot not only as James Bond (the best one for sure), but also in Hunt for Red October and of course Indiana Jones :)

I just recently heard that he was all for giving women a "good smack" if they "went out of line". It's also said that he got some abuse against his wife (first one anyway) under the belt. Now, I don't know if it's true or rumors, he denied if of course, no surprise there. However. Although I despise such things, I will part the person from the actor, he's still one of my favourites there, but if it's true it's very disappointing. I just had to get it out there, and it's not my intention to piss on the dead. RIP regardless.

A part of an interview from the 80s got shered online where he said that in an argument the man should have the last word. The "good smack" meant beating with the fist. This is horrible, even back then.

Indeed it is, it's got no place. Not then, not now. I read somewhere that he had a different attitude back in 2006, going all "Abuse is never okay" and all that, but I get the feeling he said it because he felt like he had to.
