Alright guys so I am currently trying to get abs. I have done alot of research on the subject and understand that in order to get abs you need to do sports/cardio workouts to get your heart rate up to lose fat.

I am about 5'9 and weigh 75kg (165 pounds-ish) and I want to compare with other guys who have gone for the whole ab thing. How much do you weigh now with your abs. Also how much do you think I will need to lose in order to be able to see my abs? thanks guys looking forward to see your replies.

i don't think u need to loose weight... in fact, u wont... cuz muscle is heavier than fat... so just work out bro... the abs will be there. just dont keep looking on how much u weight cuz its posible that u actually gain some...

Blarg, I am by far no where near being able to see abs. And I indeed will. The total weight on the scales consists of your bones, organs, fat, muscles. You will never see your abs if you "Just work out" without the cardio and the low % of total body fat. I'm talking about the % of fat needed to see your abs. Too see chiseled washboard abs it's about 4-9% total body fat. For the toned look it is about 9-13% total body fat. I know alot on the subjest I just want to compare with other guys who have abs.

I want to know how much weight I will need to lose I am well aware that you can't lose fat if there's none to lose but there is indeed fat to lose. Not alot but it is still there. I could probably lose another like 10-15 pounds. But even then i'm not sure if the abs would come through. Ab workouts are only to increase the abs muscle size so that once the belly fat is gone the abs are more pronounced. I pretty much answered and compared myself to myself just to answer my own question. I honestly however do thank you for your input man.

I'm glad you atleast bothered to look and reply to the topic <3 If anyone else has some weights or some inputs I will be glad to hear it thanks guys c:

Abs mostly come from the kitchen. So eat right, and they'll come easy

Mmm Yah that is true. No amount of cardio is going to save you if you don't eat right I am starting to do alot of working out, cardio, healthy eating WITH the protein. But I want comparisons probably aren't a whole lot around though I guess :l thanks for the reply man <3

I don't think weight has anything to do with it. You have to have zero layer of fat over your belly. Like when you pinch your belly, all you sould be able to get a hold of is skin and no fat at all. Otherwise your ab muscles will be hidden under a layer of fat. Some guys have naturally trim and toned bellies. Other guys don't and have to go to extreme measures to get a six pack.

on top of working out, there are also important foods to avoid. i'm no expert but ive heard carbs are good to avoid, and obviously really fatty foods. as someone before said, it starts in the kitchen!

haha im here to help bro :)

Anyway... by "just work out" of course i mean cardio and exersices xD
so i get ur question now, and i can say i have no idea how much body fat u need to loose XD
but i can tell u that i went to the gym daily (5 times a week) for about 2 months (then i got too lazy :P) and with 20 minutes of bike and only 270 abs (3 series of 30, 3 different exercices) i got a 4 pack... that's what i mean by "just work out".. cuz i wasnt doing any diet or anything... just some occasional soccer games

i'd offer but i dont even think thats allowed. sorry. I've had them since 11 and consider them my pride. 90% of it is eating right though.

I think to have the abs show you need to work out or exercise doing sit ups.

To get visable abs you need to bulk them up and get a low bodyfat, your body weight isnt high so as long as you get some muscle it shouldn't be too difficult

I don't have abs. I barely weigh 80 pounds. I apparently can't see stomach fat building up a lot, so well, I don't know. I barely exercise also.

I am 5'10" and weigh about 160-165, last year at this time I was 185 and flabby as he'll, I workers out everyday and watched what I ate , I started swimming more and running, during the summer I workout for 2 hours a day and are on an exact schedule and diet, I weighed 180 but had biceps smaller more toned and tighter chest and a smaller tighter belly, at the beginning of swim season I weighed 180 and had a more toned stomach and nice arms, now I weigh I 165 and have a tighter more muscular chest, a more definite ab line and big nice biceps, I cont thing it's how much you need to loose it's how much do you need to work, you won't have any process if you only do cardio, yeah you will loose weight but then your skin will sag, you don't need to loose weight you need to work harder on building those muscles then loosing fat with your regular cardio add intense ab workouts and eat right
