Yesterday, Dame Diana Rigg passed away, at the age of 82. In our time she's probably most known as Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones, but she was also the "Bond girl" Tracy in On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

2020 claims another one. :/ Rest in Peace.

Sad. :( She was great in GoT. I wasn't aware she was a Bond girl!

Neither was I until I checked her out on imdb, didn't recognize her at all, but I can see it now that I know.

Diana Rigg was the best, and she was positively awesome in her role on the old British television series "The Avengers." It was neat how she was able to do so many roles well into her old age.

While the old "Avengers" television series had a succession of assistants for the lead character I think Diana Rigg was probably one of the most memorable of them all. One thing that was pretty funny in the series was how the Diana Rigg character would be summoned:

I believe Diana Rigg was best known as Emma Peel in "The Avengers". She was also a Bond girl as Countess Teresa di Vicenzo, Bond's wife, in "On Her Majesty Secret Service".
I think her last role was Olenna Tyrell in "Game Of Thrones".

She was an acclaimed actress nominated for 9 Emmy awards and 3 Tonys, winning a Tony for her role in "Medea". She was created a Dame by HRH Queen Elizabeth II.

It was interesting that Diana Rigg's character in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" was the only Bond girl who managed to bring James Bond to the altar. Sadly, the marriage would not last very long as the character was killed off by the end of the film.

Diana Rigg was an actress whose work went across the decades, and it was interesting to see how she went from "The Avengers" all the way up until now on "The Game of Thrones" which shows what a great actress she was.

As a bit of useless trivia, Diana Rigg did spend her childhood growing up in British India due to her father working there as a civil servant, and she apparently could speak Hindi as a second language.
