Size limit for gifs in avatars

What's the size limit? I ask because I want to convert my current Meganium gif to the new X and Y one, but the file is too large. I want to see if I can shrink it and make it work.

I had to shrink the one below to 92 X 115 to get it to work and I used http://imgur.com/ to do it.

Didn't work for this guy. I don't think it reduced the KB count either. It still stays as 194 KB and the limit is 50. Can I still change that with Imgur by changing the resolution?

Edit: My fault, the resolution changed, but the actual size remained the same.

See if you can find a GIF compressor, usually those kinds of gifs aren't compressed and each frame is an image on its own.

Oh, and IMO, the current one's more vivid and cute and stuff.
