I do it off and on. When I don't for a few days toma week it is because I have no want to. My libido just leaves. I only seem to jack off in an on/off pattern over days or weeks. I am religious but see no harm in moderate masturbation and I see no harm in abstaining from it altogether.

There are boys out there who find masturbation and self pleasure appalling, and some of them for religious reasons. They find them as 'sinful temptations' as i would call it. I respect their decisions, however they are sure missing out! :)

Well you're entitled to your opinion, of course, but there are flaws in your reasoning.

First of all lets look at what happens if you do have intercourse. Most of the time you do it won't be right time in her monthy cycle for her to get pregnant, there will be no egg there for the sperm to fertilise so they will swim around for a bit and then die. Even if it is the right time of the month only one sperm out of the about 300 million ejaculated will fertilise the egg all the rest will die, most of them having never got near the egg. And, even if the egg is fertilised the xygote may not impant into the uterine lining and may thus die anyway.

So, what happens if you just abstain from ejaculating instead? The sperm will wait around for a bit and then they will die and be reabsorbed to be replaced with fresh ones.

You can't stop your balls from producing sperm and it is quite impossible to treat them as a scarce resource and make sure every one is used wisely - that would be like seeing a river running down the mountainside and trying to drink every drop of water lest it go to waste. Whatever happens the vast majroity of your sperm will die having never been near an egg and all you can decide is whether that happens before of after you have ejaculated them. Ejaculating them feels better than not doing so.

Dude I completely agree. I was gonna say the exact same thing. There is nothing wrong with masterbaing. I'm a Christian but I do it. It's only seen as 'sinful' if you watch porn because it's lust. And if you do produce sperm, and don't masterbate, after a week or 2, you might have a wet dream which will just get rid of the sperm anyway. Honestly, god has a lot more things to worry about :)

I actually know a guy who simply can't do it. I think he said he has only masturbated himself like once in his lifetime. He has even tried to in front of his girlfriend but he couldn't do it so he just grabbed her hand and she "helped" him. We're pretty sure it's a psychological problem relating to sexual abuse as a child.

I couldn't agree more as a person, male, and Christian. It's no wonder fertilization is even possible with all the complications. Amazing life happens given what may happen to the zygote and embryo after. Fun fact: Some have a rare semen allergy. Some abstain from male ejaculate because of this. But tjis is rare, maybe less than 1 in a million.
