So I have this problem, I don't like my facial hair I just turned 13 back in January and I am growing a mustache which is visible and I am starting to grow a beard. Which isn't fully visible yet but you can see that I am starting to grow one.

I talked to my dad about this and he really does not want me to shave. His reasons were that the hair grows back thicker, faster, and darker and I don't look bad with my current facial hair because it just looks normal for a kid to start their facial hair growth. My facial hair is not thick its thin as of this moment but guys always ask me are you not going to shave? I always say no. I have talked to my close friends with shaving because they have shaved and I haven't, they have said there facial hair has came back faster thicker and darker.

That scares me because I want my hair to be naturally grown but at the same time I do not want it to grow too fast.

How should I approach this situation with my dad? I just would like to see what I would look like without my facial hair at least once but he doesn't want me to.

Sorry if this is the wrong topic to post on, I just thought facial hair = puberty and yea.

I always heard it was true too but I just read an article today that said it is a myth. It was a medical type website so I tend to believe it.

Yes it does. Use a trimmer instead.

Btw I think there's an app on how you would look like without facial hair.

Shave when you start to notice a big change and then keep doing it every 1 or 2 days like I'm having to. I think it might make hair grow back quicker but not thicker, but I don't have a reliable source for this... I just hate facial hair

No your hair does not suddenly grow thicker, it just doesn't have that nice tapered edge anymore. Think of a tree, uncut the end is very thin, but once you cut it the "end" looks thicker because it's cut flat even though nothing actually changed but where you're looking at
