View Full Version : Shave Pubes?

I've been thinking about shaving "the jungle" for a while now and I've got a couple questions. Would you recommend it? How common is it? Do you do it? And probably most importantly, how do you do it? I've (obviously) never done it before and the only shaving I've ever done is on my face (not that much 'cuz I don't grow that much). My dad got me this electric "Wet&Dry BRAUN" one that lets me shave without any shaving cream, just turn it on and shave, and I don't know if that would work. If you have any tips or anything that would help, please let me know. Thanks.

I've never done it but saw a video explaining it (with clothes on!) on YouTube by one of the companies that make them. That might help.

You might hate the feeling when it comes back, all prickly and all.......

I used to shave mine but I stopped for that reason.. (One of the reasons anyway)

I would say it’s up to you if you save or not, I can imagine it browns back prickly

To me, shaven just looks better, but the first time you jerk after shaving is a life changing experience

I buzz them down. I shaved once but it itched like crazy.

With the Wet/Dry Shaver might work if there
is an attachment that shaves longer hair like
a heavy beard but I wouldnt use it like an
electric razor cause it might pull and then
Ouch. I rather trim. Its up to each guy but
I think it looks better not to shave. I dont
want to look like a 10 year old again.

I personally don't like the look of guys that should have pubes and shave them. It's a personal preference I guess. I only lightly trim to get the jungle looking neat. I would guess that your fancy razor would do the trick if it has a trimmer feature. I use an electric razor with a trimmer to trim my pubes.

I've always assumed an electric razor would do the job, just make sure you cut them(esp the course ones) to a short legenth because otherwise you might encounter issues

I've been shaving pretty since I got pubic hairs. It's not necessary sure, but I think it looks and feels a lot better. I was the first boy in my class but a few others do it by now too, mostly the boys that swim.
I have no experience with an electric razor but I've also read that it's not the best way. I'd recommend trimming as much of the hair as you can and then shaving the rest of smoothly with an actual razor using shaving cream or better gel. It's a bit of work once but easy to shave it smooth again every few days in the shower.

Don't you get ingrown hairs from that?

I did it a few weeks ago. Didn't have a great experience myself. I like pubes better anyways. It's up to you.

I use a buzzer like once a month. Just kinda to keep it neat. I think it's kinda common there are definitely other guys in gym that i can tell trim theirs a bit.

I like being smooth and started shaving as soon as I started getting pubic hair. I don’t have much in the way of body hair. I use a women’s Venus razor and gel instead of shave cream. I shave whenever I shower so it doesn’t take very long.

I prefer the saved look. It's more work if you also save your sack. But I think the results are nice.

Honestly, I don't like shaving my pubes, I usually just trim them. I am also very hairy and shaving would look awful.

Personally, I would not. I don't understand the compulsion guys have to do it or why they think they need to. I did it once and I hated it, didn't like how it looked, and I found that I don't like it on other guys. If you're going to do it, I would use an electric clipper and just buzz it down. THat's what I did.

I wouldn’t recommend shaving your pubes. I had classmates in HS that did it and complained about razor burn. I have never shaved, I have trimmed my pubes a couple of times. It felt weird. Kind of prickly. I used scissors to trim. If you do shave go slow, to avoid razor burn and ingrown hairs.

I tried to shave them couple of times, but wasn't like 100% sure, that it's for me, so I started to just trim them.
Rn I just trim them from time to time.

i have tried shaving couple of times but i don't like the look of it. It looks like i'm 10 kid with dick of 17 year old. Now i usually just trim my pubic hair so its nice and tidy. I go pretty low on it.
if you however would prefer shaving over trimming, i would suggest trimming it electric razor or scissors as low as you can and the go with manual shaving razor. This way the hair is not visible at all anymore as with manual shaving razor you get the closest shave possible

I was completely smooth for a time .I have a teardrop happy trail now completely smooth below .I use a norelco one blade with a blade guard on it. In shower or dry I shave 1 or 4 times week cover shaft and pubes with aloevera gelly

I used to shave my pubes, but it looks kinda funny (cuz my body isn't smooth) and it takes a lot of time if I wanna shave properly. For a while I trim it, like twice in a month. Easier but must be careful to trim balls :O

I only shaved mine once but it's itchy and uncomfortable when it grows back so I stopped doing it. When it grows to bushy I just trim it a little with scissors (very carefully tho).

I've never shaved my pubes, but then I don't even have a full bush yet. I've heard it can be really itchy when it grows back and that you can get little red bumps.

Be very cautious if you're going to try this. Shaving too hard could give you ingrown hairs or a cut, which could become infected and cause further problems. Additionally, as the hair grows back, it will be very short at first, during which time it may feel painful when rubbed against just about anything. This sort of skin irritation is particularly problematic in that region. I don't know if you're at this stage yet, but you definitely don't want to shave the parts between your legs as they will hurt for a little while when they rub together while you walk. Please consult online tutorials if you're going to give it a go. Personally, though, I'd recommend trimming it. You can go quite short if you so desire. This keeps things under control while eliminating much of the danger.
