Teenage Circumcision - tips and advice (due to phimosis)

I'm 14 and booked in to get circumcised in September delayed cause of Corona virus they have cancelled minor operations.

I've seen three urologists with my parents because I didn't want to snip my foreskin but after 6 months of steroid cream, stretching, warm baths and phimostretch rings I've given up on my foreskin... My pin hole opened up a lil bit no where near enough to let the head out. My best friend showed me how a foreskin should work and I'm amazed and fffn jealous!

My question is to any teens who where cut as teens are.

What should I expect after the op?
What did you to wear after the op.boxers, boxer briefs, nude???
How did you go with the night erections I heard they are hell...
Anything else you'd like to add?

Don’t feel so bad about being cut. It’s an awkward time to do it and I’m glad I got my pinhole foreskin out of the way when I was 8, but is so much nicer being circumcised than having a dodgy foreskin. Being cut is perfectly fine.

I wasn’t cut as a teen, but I can still remember when I was cut at 8. After the op it hurt like hell for a day once the painkillers wore off. Taking a piss was the worst bit, but you can’t really avoid that. I remember tighter underwear was more comfortable so that it during move around too much. It hurt just to touch and pee for a while so I can imagine erections would be a nightmare.


Do you have any mates that are cut? It seemed to me at the time that I was the only boy in Sydney who was cut, but around 20% of my mates are! It always continues to surprise me, but cut guys are a sizeable minority of teen boys in Sydney. It has helped me knowing I’m the not only guy my age who is cut in my area. If you know anyone who is cut in real life perhaps can give you some advice (or even a demo?). When you do go back to jerking, maybe try with some lube first, particularly if you are given a really tight cut.

Do you know what style of cut you are getting? My cut is pretty low and tight but I’ve seen guys in Sydney with all different types. I kinda wish mine was a big higher with more inner skin. That’s something to ask the doctor about.

I'm getting a standard circumcision there's what the urologist recommended I wanted it tight cause I liked the look of no bunched up skin but he said to trust him and loose is the way to go... I've got 5 months of sleepless nights stressing about this op it's my first and I get edgy thinking about it...

I wish I did it before puberty I get night erections I'm not looking forward to them and Dr said no jerking off for 2 weeks wtf lol how am I going to sleep... I'm taking three weeks off school to recover which is cool so I don't have to walk funny at school lol

Well my foreskin is kinda useless so jerking touching the glands for the first time will be kinda cool I think... Yes I've got three weeks off school but Dr said I can't go for a jog or play soccer for six weeks and I can't jerk off for two weeks and in those two weeks I can't really wank it I have to tickle it too I shoot lol... Second, in America most insurance companies do not pay for circumcisions and parents pay for them.

I had the same problem you had and a lot of other guys on here have been your route. but in my case I had a great doctor and great parents that I was not ashamed to talk to about my problem.

I took a shower 2 times a day and still do, I bathed in warm water more than 6 months, I went on a diet, I did everything the doctor told me to do, and I got rings and they hurt like hell especially when I had to have help putting them in. pretty embarrassing.

Well my cousin had it done because of a accident he was in, and he told me to say this: You will have a constant throbbing pain in your penis and will not touch it for a day or so, it will be wrapped in gauze and you better hope you don't get a erection. If you get pain killers they might not work, his did not.
What did you to wear after the op.boxers, boxer briefs, nude??? Wear dark briefs, you want to support it and keep it against your body and if you got a jock strap use at home.
How did you go with the night erections I heard they are hell... Its a decision you made, no one will feel sorry for you, they will be painful as heck and you will masturbate within the first 2 days and it will hurt. but again that's your choice and you can stop the circumcision if you want.

I do hope it works out for you. I've been lucky that I've had no issues with my foreskin, and not a fan of circumcisin, but in some cases, know it's necessary. It's a shame because of lock down that you have to wait. It would be useful if you could get it done sooner as you could rest during lock down. I hope it goes OK

Well there are plenty of uncut guys with short foreskins that don't completely cover the glans and they get along fine. I am so sorry for you my friend I treasure my foreskin dearly. Your glans will have to adjust to being circumcised too so I don't see why you can't get just partially cut in my opinion anyway.

Like any operation/surgery you will have some discomfort for a while, and you may have to deal with swelling or bleeding. However, things get better relatively quickly, and I think someone up there said that it takes six weeks for things to be kind of where they were. The swelling (if you get it) goes down within a week, and you just have to take it easy for a couple of weeks until you're fully healed like any procedure.

What did you to wear after the op.boxers, boxer briefs, nude???

You might want to go with looser underwear like boxers. I do not know if you would want to go nude because your clothes would be rubbing up against your wound which you do not want. I think boxers would be ideal because they would give you some protection against staining your clothes (if you bleed slightly) while not rubbing against your penis too much.

I know getting cut sucks, but since the Urologist tried everything else on you and tried to give you options to keep your foreskin that there is not much else to do. I would not feel badly, and at least you will get a lot of relief compared to what you have now. What you have now is really uncomfortable, and you need to be able to use your penis without having pain. Once this procedure is all right and you move past the recovery time you will be totally fine. You will have some pain but ultimately get a lot of gain. I know you will be fine, and don't be scared. It is not like you will be getting an amputation or something like that, and you will get relief which is most important.

I was born in the southern USA where circumcision is pretty common. Me and my bro were both circumcised right after birth and I'm happy it was done and done when I was to young to remember it. I like being circumcised because it's easier to keep clean, don't have to constantly peel the forskin back to pee and clean, and being circumcised is less prone to infections. If I have a son I will have him circumcised. Some boys say getting circumcised reduces sensitivity, I don't believe that, even being circumcised, you still have plenty of sensitivity.

You are certainly not doing anything wrong because your Urologist explored every option short of circumcision. Because nothing else worked you have to do the last resort which happens to guys. You are not the only one out there who has had this problem which resulted in being cut, and you certainly are not a freak or have anything wrong with you for being circumcised. At least you had brought this up with your family, and I give you credit for doing something about your problem. Especially if you are left with a loose circumcision, then you will have the best of both worlds. It sounds like your Urologist is a good one and is trying hard to help you.

First there is nothing wrong being cut, we are about 20 to 25% in the entire world and we live it pretty well :P

You will need 3-4 weeks to heal so you will prolly have a bandage over it (yeah the idea of a having a bandage around your penis sounds weird but... :D )
While it's healing, it will be sore, go through all kind of colors, it may take a weird shape, but all this is normal. It will take its normal appearance in the end

In the beginning the glans is very sensitive, especially if you couldn't pull it out and expose in the air
I advise to do it during vacation, so that you can stay home. Going to school with a bandaged penis and an oversensitive glans that moves and rubs against underpants all the time is not really comfortable. Better stay home in pyjamas or loose pants

If you wear boxers during the day when you're walking around, the head of your penis will be tender and the free balling will rub up against the fabric constantly, so boxers are really not comfortable to walk around in. I would suggest a brief or a boxer brief. Putting them on will feel weird but they'll keep your junk in place so it doesn't move around as much. Cotton dude lol.

And keep the gauze bandage on for as long as your doctor tells you to have it covered, you will have stitches, a lot.

When you sleep though you'll get night-time erections that can get pretty damn uncomfortable and will wake you up. So boxer briefs or briefs would feel quite constricting. I suggest boxers at night. Just situate yourself in a way that won't have the head touching the pants. Oh here's a tip sleep on your side with your legs bent. Like fetal position and have your balls and penis in front of your legs. Also empty your bladder before sleep, because that might lead to unwanted erections. If you do get one, try raising your knees closer to your chest and hopefully the erection will go away.

If you get a erection turn on something on TV that will take your mind off what's turning you on.

If you can though, walk around naked. That's really the best thing. Don't worry about it too much though, it's not as bad as some people might scare you into thinking. Not particularly painful, just uncomfortable. Good luck.

I’d make a case for not going loose. You aren’t getting circumcised because you want the benefits of a circumcision, but you might as well fully get them since you’re doing it anyways. No bunched up moist skin folds, the ability (when using it “wet”, whether with lube or another person) to have only direct sliding over skin, no skin sliding over the head, the full convenience and (depending on taste) appearance benefits… you get the most out of a circumcised penis when it isn’t too loose, I think. Trying to hold onto half-circumcised, half not loses the best benefits of both. Embrace the new and go for it fully, not halfway.

Hey thanks for your reply when they say loose it's not a semi circumcision it's still being cut the only difference is the skin isn't pulled really tight the urologist won't do a tight circumcision because if my dick grows more which I really really really hope it does lol n I'm 14 so I'm hoping there's another inch to go it will cause pain. N he also said having some skin helps when jerking off well he didn't say jerking but you know what I mean... I liked the look of the tight cut too but even after reading online most guys say the loose cut is the best... When it's hard you can't even tell the difference between a loose or tight cut it's only when it's soft you can tell slightly...
