Warning, this thread is going full on music nerd!!! :hiya: There is a sequence of four simple notes found in movies like the Lion King, the Shining, Star Wars and gobs of others. Mostly during scenes announcing coming death and doom and gloom. It actually dates back 800 years and is called the "Dies Irae." The music professor in the video explains that our ears are trained to be put off by it. Super fascinating!!

Oh wow. Good share, G! It makes you appreciate how film composers use psychology huh? This brain science stuff is so interesting. :yes: i went straight to the time interval you gave, but then found myself watching all the way to the end. And then went back and watched the first 20 minutes. A lil backwards, but hey. :P

Oh yes I love Vsauce and especially this video of theirs, I’ve watched it at least three times because of how interesting it is! So I’m glad someone else was able to appreciate it as much as I do as well :)

The Dies Irae was also the chords used for the 4 note singing Elsa hears in Frozen 2 if anyone's seen that

Full music nerd? Let's go. Dias irae shows up in the fifth movement of Symphonie Fantastique which is a symphony about a guy who kills some woman he is in love with. In the fifth movement he has killed the woman, been executed, and is in hell being tormented by demons.
