Do any of you guys shave your pits? Guys have told me it stings when they put on deodorant. Guys on the swim team tell me their times were faster after they shaved. I find that hard to believe.

I don’t but shaving ur body hair does make ur swimming times faster especially shaving ur legs but I don’t think u could see much difference from just unshaven to shaved pits

their times being faster after shaving their armpits would be minimally faster because of less drag (why you probably won't see a professional swimmer with hairy pits) but i think that's mostly an urban legend. i trim my pits but the times that i have shaved it didn't hurt to put deodorant on, but it might if you did a rough job

Smooth = less friction. but does that really make a difference??

I reckon for an average swimmer you would need to be hairy like an orangutan for it to make a difference.
I am not a swimmer so never considered shaving mine.

I once did it but didn't really like effects. About this swimming it's probably true because less friction because of smooth surface.

Not sure about the being faster after shaving but deodorant can sting a little directly after shaving.

I am not sure about their arm pits but our swim team shaves their pubes.

I'm a swimmer and I shave both my pubes and pits.

I never understood swimmers shaving their pubes, it's not like they are swimming naked...I guess I'm missing something.
