Has anyone seen it? I kinda want to but the reviews aren't very good, Rotten Tomatoes gave it 18 %.
How does it compared to the play?

Looks so bad...the CGI looks super creepy.

It sounds awful, but I'll give it a watch if it shows up on Netflix some day.

I would never pay money to go see it. But I cannot state how badly I want to be able to rent it when it comes out on DVD so I can watch it with friends and make fun of how bad it is together

Maybe it will become one of those cult classics that gain new life at midnight showings. And watching it while high makes it even better.

They're already doing midnight showings at a local theater chain which isn't fair because the people who made that movie shouldn't be rewarded with cult status for making a movie that looks like pure trash. Seems like cult status is something that should happen naturally over time.

I've never seen the original musical but I saw the film and I liked it. Sure, it was a bit rough around the edges, the character design is strange (although I like it) and there were probably a few changes from the musical that people didn't like (I've read criticism of the choreography) but I found it enjoyable. The colour palette and sets were beautiful and the music is great. Plus the all-star cast.

From what I've heard it's the most cursed thing in existence. Might watch it some day just to laugh at it, though I might not be able to look at Judi Dench the same way ever again

Who knows, maybe in a few years it'll give The Room some tough competition. :P
