So pretty much 90% of the movies we see are pretty much watched in a theater or through a streaming service. But what movies do you have or want to have in your shelf?

I start by saying The Godfather. In my opinion, it's one of the best movies ever made, and deserves a place in my shelf.

Your turn, and remember, you're all welcome to post again if you come up with more titles! :) That's a rule I'm gonna abuse a lot. xD

Star Wars goes without saying. :D I also agree with Back to the Future, although the other two don't appeal that much to me, despite the fact that I did enjoy them. :)

Yeah agreed aboiut Back to the Future. My favorite parts of the second movie is when he travels back to the 50s AGAIN and watches what he was doing in the first movie. :P

Yeah that's a great part, and I love it when Marty says to the doc "You won't believe it", then tells him that they have to go back to the same night in 1955, and Doc responds "I don't believe it!"

My parents have a ton of DVDs/blurays and even some VHS. We do have Godfather trilogy and LOTR. Star Wars original trilogy in multiple formats, including a VHS where Han shoots Greedo (horrible video quality though). My dad is a huge movie nerd so we have crap going back to the silent era. I'd like to have a bluray set of the Harry Potter series but other than that my movie needs are definitely covered.

That's awesome. Unfortunately we don't have the theater releases for the first Star Wars trilogy, we have the bluray box, but when we want to watch any of the old movies we suck up to my uncle who's got the theater versions on a limited DVD release from 2004.

Oooh. Good topic. I agree with the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Godfather (Part II as well) and the Star Wars Original Trilogy. Personally, to me, Harry Potter and Marvel aren't really classics enough to be shelf-worthy (I don't think any of them rise above just "good").

I'd put up for consideration:
Lost in Translation (2003)
Martin Scorcese's most classic movies: Taxi Driver (1976), Raging Bull (1980) and Goodfellas (1990)
Pulp Fiction (1994)
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
No Country for Old Men (2007)
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017)
The Favourite (2018)
Whiplash (2014)

Adding a couple classic movies that never fail to make me smile. :) Monty Python and the Holy Grail and The Princess Bride.

I really like Monty Python movies. One of my favorite skit is from "Flying Circus", The Spanish Inquisition.
