Why are threads permanently deleted? If the thread is inappropriate, could a moderator just lock it? Do they get deleted when it seems like they've gotten out of hand? I posted in a thread about a disorder called Pedophilia. I won't go into it much, but I think the thread has been deleted because I couldn't find the thread in my recent posts. Did it get deleted because of the inappropriate topic? I didn't create the thread, but I posted in a thread about it.

Threads are deleted when they are too inappropriate to be on the forums or they are requested by the poster. Occasionally if the poster of a thread is banned, and it has no responses the thread will also be deleted seeing as it no longer has a purpose if the poster's question can not be answered.
The thread you posted in was deleted. The OP was banned and his question couldn't be answered, the thread was also inappropriate given the circumstances.

Thank you! That does make sense. I can see why there shouldn't be inappropriate threads on the site.
