Haha, so Kik app got into a lawsuit guys. And they shutdown the app.
I honestly never liked kik. And it always seemed to be the choice of perverts/predators. At least in my experience. I've had to report way too many people because of that trap dump.

I honestly like Telegram (https://telegram.org/) way more anyways, even more than skype. Cause it's encrypted, but yet private. AND RUSSIA HATES them. Same for Iran, so that kinda tells you how great they are about freedom and freedom speech. I've been using Tele for like 5 years already.

So anyways, for my techie friends here, are you sad Kik is dead? What app do you message more with, imessage, snapchat, kik, skype, telegram, facebook messenger? lol I remember old Yahoo messenger way back!

I used to have Kik but then got a message from a complete stranger. Me and my friends just stick to Whatsapp now as it's probably the best out there.

Well Whatsapp is owned by Facebook for the past couple of years. Before Facebook bought them, the business model was paying $0.99/year and you didn't sell your info or privacy to the company. But since Facebook bought them, it's Free* with the exception you give them your account info lol and cookies. You also MUST share your phone number with the other user to add them on Whatsapp.

This is where Telegram beats Whatsapp in my opinion. You can share only your username on telegram and add a contact, and start to chat... Also you can share 1.5GB files on telegram vs 100mb on whatsapp. :D :D
THE ONLY thing Whatsapp has over telegram, is the video call feature. But I use Google duo for that, or snapchat.

My Kik still works but was never a big fan of it so no love loss there if it goes.
But I do like telegram it’s nice, feels less fucked up and somewhat more mature and safer, if that’s even possible

Kik seems to have a similar audience to MeetMe. Both platforms were terrible and everyone seemed to be looking for sex. My experience with MeetMe was having people degrade me if we didn’t share an opinion. I posted something politically related, and all of the comments were bashing me because I didn’t share their views.

The sister of my Russian ex told me that one of her friends works in the FSB (Federal Security Service, the heir to the KGB). He said that no encryption is uncrackable given enough time, but that Telegram is by far the hardest for them to crack. Unlike Whatsapp, Viber or Messenger, massive data surveilance would take too much time and money for them.

Yeah, it was supposed to shut down this coming Saturday, but it seems they found a buyer. I got suspicious when they didn't have any sort of notices in the app.

I have many memories on kik from middle school to early high school. I haven't used it in years... I don't see anyone using it anymore, but maybe middle schoolers still do.

I've never used kik, but why would the other chat apps be safer? Predators are everywhere, including on this very site, they know very well how to use those apps and social media
