If the foreskin is too tight and you're worried about it, I'd go see a doctor if I were you.

My foreskin is pretty tight. I can just about retract it but I always put it back ASAP so it doesn’t get stuck. It’s been like this for a good few years.
Would you recommend I see a doctor to get circumcised, and if you were cut in your late teens/ adult, would you recommend or disincentive me doing it?

Before getting cut I would talk with a doctor to see if there is a prescription ointment that can be used to loosen your foreskin. In a lot of cases it works out pretty well enabling your foreskin to get loose.

There are a lot of threads on here from guys who were circumcised as teens, and overall they did fine after the first month of discomfort. If there is no way to loosen your foreskin through medication, then discuss the different options of getting cut. To answer your question directly about the disincentive of getting cut, the main one is that for the first month after getting cut you will have discomfort while your body is healing. If you can handle that, then you will be fine.

At this stage everything depends on your penis and how bad the situation is with your foreskin. Only your doctor can give you advice on the exact status of your foreskin and what your options are. I would start out with non-surgical options, but if getting cut is the way to go, then that is not necessarily a bad thing if you can handle post-operative care for around a month.

Yes I confirm the above. My doctor prescribed me some steroid cream to loosen the tip ou my foreskin and after some weeks I was able to retract it more and more until full exposure of the glans.
You should try this option before thinking about a permanent circumcision

I would see your doctor before making any non reversible decisions like circumcision. There are stretching things you can do and ointments and creams.

If you've ever had any interest in having a circumcised penis, now is your best opportunity to go for it in the easiest way possible—no awkward explanations and no cost since it's medically needed.

Or if you don't want to get cut and are willing to put in some work and aren't in a hurry, try the creams and stretching and stuff first; those don't always work but you could try and see. It seems like those are your choices.

You definitely don't want to leave it the way it is. Getting it stuck back can be dangerous, and then you might have to have an emergency circumcision under worse, more painful conditions. Plus it sounds like it just isn't working right, and you deserve a penis that works properly, either cut or uncut but not strangled.

If you're looking for personal takes, I'd go for cut, but then again I already am cut and like it a lot. If it's something you think you might like though, a couple weeks of discomfort as it heals will get you a lifetime of result. (Or a few months of creams and stretching, if that works.)

One of my 7th grade friends had this done and it's just like being uncut.
I have seen him at school in shower and you cant tell he had anything done.

Are you sexually active? If not, as long as urination and erections happen without discomfort, you're ok.

If you are sexually active, or becoming sexually active, talk to a doctor about stretching or creams.

Another thing you can try...when you sit to pee, slightly pinch the overhanging skin so it'll "balloon" itself...then, release the skin. Do this on occasion and it'll loosen up.

Another idea is to stretch your skin away from the base...make it longer than what it is and then slowly and carefully pull back.

If you have an issue then yes of course you should go see a doctor. But maybe he will have another solution than cutting ;)

You don't have to get cut for this. Steroid ointments can be prescribed that help loosen the skin. It's natural for it to happen

I was done at 13 , I wouldn’t recommend it unless there is no alternative solution

How come?

I can’t change it and I’m happy as I am , but if you can avoid surgery and keep ur skin I think it’s better

If you need to get circumcised, don't worry, I think you'll like it. The world is full of cut guys who love their dicks a lot. It's sort of an adventure, depending how you look at it. You get to learn all about "your penis version 2.0" and the different advantages it has, while still remembering what the old way was like.

I’ve seen my doctor. He said it’s a pretty severe case but told me to do some stretching atm and I’m going back in 6 weeks where he thinks he’ll have to refer me for circumcision.
Hey. Just curious, did the stretching work out after six weeks?

Thanks for the replies guys. I’m gonna try stretching and see a doctor in a bit if that hasn’t helped.

I had to have mine done at 14 after an accident. I didn't have any problems. The worst part is the anticipation. The pain is manageable but the results are outrageously better. When I think back, the worst part was going through 6 months of pain trying to avoid having it done. Once I bit the bullet, It was fixed in a couple of weeks. And everyone wanted to have a look at the results. lol
