Just curious if anyone on here still wears anything from the boys department or in other words...when extra small and small men's are still too big. It's always so embarrassing shopping there. The store clerk's snicker I swear. I'm usually a 10-12 in pants and shirts and an 8 or 10 in boxers.

I guess it depends on how old u r and self
conscious. I wouldn't feel embarrassed so
u r on the slim side. The clerk is there to
wait on u not to make judgements unless
u ask for advice. I wouldn't let it bother
me. What is ur waist size? I had a friend
that had a size 26 in. waist.

I'm on the very small side...somewhere between 5ft 6-7" and 105lbs with a 24" waist. I am very tiny. I have some Asian heritage but you woundntt think it looking at me. Clothing can be very challenging. But yeah just this look like "what are you doing in the kids department " kinda thing. I think it's just me being very self conscious. Pants can be a major struggle and I had to switch to boxer shorts as well for sizing which isn't really my preference

I would not worry, and your situation is not exactly uncommon. There are plenty of guys who have to shop in the boy's department for clothing well into high school.

You seem like you are a decent sized height, but you are just really skinny. It may just take some time for you to grow. Anyone who says anything about shopping in the boy's department is a jerk, and I would not listen to them. You need to do what you need to do, and chances are you will grow sooner rather than later.

You shouldn't feel too bad, there are plenty of people who are embarrassed about looking for extra large sizes.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I fit comfortably into kids xl clothes until just maybe a year or so ago and I’m 14.

Thanks guys means a lot to me ... Very positive comments. It's tricky being so skinny and so tall... I must admit underwear is the biggest problem to find..and trousers. But yeah to hell with what people think in the store I guess.

Oh man I know the feeling wearing em. They're so tiny. I can do a 10/12 in boxer briefs but boxer shorts which I have to wear for room I usually need to drop to an 8. Hanes are huge sizing.

I think in your case going with boys' underwear is the way to go assuming that they fit. You are just in an awkward time right now when you are between a kid and an adult body, but at least boys' clothes fit you as opposed to buying adult stuff and not fitting in those.

At least you are pretty tall and are not small in that area. I have seen guys in high school who were still wearing boys' clothes almost until senior year. Some guys are just slow growers for whatever reason. You are hardly the only guy who needs to purchase boys' clothes.

I am really surprised anyone at a store would make comments, and if you have a survey on your receipt, then definitely fill it out letting the store know about clerks who are being jerks. Your body is what it is, and you have to work with what you have.

Just awkward with the boys sizes for 'down below'...I've had to wear boxer shorts since about 12 now. And they offer no support.

Out of curiosity, are there boxer briefs in your size? Those things should offer you support. Otherwise, you might want to go with briefs which might be the way to go for you if support is what you really need. Boxers are not bad if support is not essential to you, but boxer briefs might be your best bet. When I casually took a look in the boys department at a store after reading through your post I had seen a lot of boxer briefs there in what I am guessing are your size which might help you.

In either case, you are just in a transition period, and you will get through this sooner rather than later. You seem otherwise fine, and do not get sensitive about your size or where you shop because I am sure there are others around you who probably still shop in the boys department.

Its just a passing phase....I too remember I used to have a 24 waist and weigh 48kg at 5'9'' ....I was super skinny and had to buy all kiddy stuff, including my undies...imagine buying kiddie briefs.....(even at 15 yrs)..
Now I am 17 and during the last 2 years I have really filled out and gained much weight....My waist is not 33 inches....and now can easily wear medium sized boy clothes.....You too will gain and it will be unbelivable.

I can still fit into boy's sizes; men's small is often too big, although thankfully I am getting a bit taller so it's not as much of an issue as it used to be. No one has ever made fun of me for it or even noticed it, to my knowledge.

Problem with kids sizes is they don't have any room in the crotch. I am quite large in that area and it's just impossible

That's good man. Yeah small men's is way too big I find. Even boys 12 can be way too loose. Underwear is usually the worst
