Let's talk first bra! Because every gurl has a story.
How old were you?
Was it your idea or did your mom or someone else suggest it?
How did you feel about it? Excited? Hated it? Didn't care?
I was 12.
I didn't "need" one. Or even at 13 tbh. But I was so afraid of not fitting in at jr high so I worked up the courage to ask my mom. I was relieved she said yes. That night we went out and got some cute training bras.
I was pretty proud of myself and felt more grown up. What's funny is these days i am like meh and it is the first thing i lose when i get home from school. lol

I'm still pretty flat in the chest so I wear camisoles mainly if I wear something under a shirt

How old were you? 13.
Was it your idea or did your mom or someone else suggest it? My mum said I'd got to that stage.
How did you feel about it? Excited? Hated it? Didn't care? Excited that I was at last big enough to need one. But there are more important things to worry about than bras.

I was 12, it was really just a trainer/sports bra type thing
Hides nipples pointing through, which tbh I like when they do but sometimes they get rubbed too much on some fabric and hurt after a while
Still don’t have a legit proper bra or the ability to fill it

My 13th. birthday was a couple of months away.
Mom suggested it, as I was starting to get slightly lumpy. :P
I was kinda excited about it, finally gonna wear a bra like the grownups did.

How old were you? A real bra with 13, before that camisole and training bra, if thats the word I'm looking for
Was it your idea or did your mom or someone else suggest it? my mom made it quite clear
How did you feel about it? Excited? Hated it? Didn't care? I was excited but it was also a bit embarrassing for me.

Was it your idea or did your mom or someone else suggest it?
I got given them by a cousin who's grown out of them, and my mum put them in a drawer and said they're there for when I feel ready to try wear them (I think it was because I'd started to get mounds that were just about becoming visible under my clothes so she knew that I'd need to try starting wearing them sometime within a year or two at least). So during a school holiday I tried wearing one, and started to wear them at home, but wasnt for about a half a year before I wore them to school
How did you feel about it? Excited? Hated it? Didn't care?
Excited and grown up. But worried and nervous about wearing them to school because I didn't know anyone else wearing one then, and didn't want to stand out

Was it your idea or did your mom or someone else suggest it?mom bought me sports bras
How did you feel about it? Excited? Hated it? Didn't care? I wasn't excited about it but at a certain age a girl should probably wear one even if they are completely flat.

I don't really need one yet and maybe never will. Still pretty flat chested at 16, I'd need a 38A or 38AA but prolly don't want the aggravation that goes with a bra. Did try a few on when I was like 12-14 just to see what a bra felt like, didn't really care for it, so have been wearing camisoles or a tank top as an undershirt on days when I need to which isn't often. I do have several sports bras which are stretchy and not structured that I can also wear. I'll prolly just continue on with what I've been doing unless some miracle occurs and I actually develop boobs. Genetically, it just isn't likely based on my mom and big sis, aunties and cousins who are nearly all flat as a board.
I'm way beyond the point of thinking that just because I'm female and a certain age, I ought to be wearing a bra. There's no excitement at all. I don't care is prolly the best way of describing my feelings about the whole situation.

You know, that was maybe not the best choice of words, but it kinda is a situation for many girls who don't know whether they need to wear a bra, should wear a bra, or simply shouldn't care about bras. All of those possibilities are perfectly OK.
I do feel beautiful regardless, and I've proven to myself that I can use other features of my body to attract attention even if I'm never gonna be any bigger on top. This girl has bootaay.......and lots of it........meaty thighs too, and no issues showing them off either. Like the line in the Stevie Wonder song Living for the City "her skirt is short but Lord her legs are sturdy........ That totally works for me. :)

Was it your idea or did your mom or someone else suggest it? Mum's idea I guess. But my nipples had started poking through my tops so it was a no brainer I suppose.
How did you feel about it? Excited? Hated it? Didn't care? I have an older sister and had seen her wearing them and complaining about them, so nothing terribly exciting about it.

Ashamedly I was 11. I grew and developed from around 10 and a half and they just continued. They seem to have stopped now thankfully. I absolutely hated it because by around 12 I was what you might call fully developed and therefore nothing like my peers.
If you look at my pics you'll probably understand the problem.

Is it bad that I dont have a bra yet?
NOT at all Karina my boobs only started to bud just after my 13th birthday and was mostly very puffy areolas and nipples but the breast itself was always quite small I was a "AA" for quite some time and it's only about two years I went to an "A" cup and even now I am kinda between an "A" and "B" and still quite puffy and pointy, I never really wore a bra to unless I really had to like going to school as I would have been showing to much because of my school uniform shirt, and then it was mostly a sports bra, And some times when getting dressed up to go somewhere I would sometimes wear a camisole, but braless was and still is my favourite. And like others have said I am also taking after my mum aunts (mums sisters) and cousins in the boob department, I only have mums side of the family as I never knew anyone in my father's as he was never in my life, and as mum was BI but for about 15 years she is now Gay.

Yeah I guess being on either end of the development scale has it's own problems. Thanks :) and I hope you didn't get teased too much either
Luckily I didn't get to much teasing over it, I always used to wear a vest under my school shirt so no one could see through the fabric of it, so when I first started to wear a bra at school I just kept wearing the vest over it, then when I got confident enough I stopped wearing the vest and just wore a bra, which was like a crop top style, so sorta like a shorter vest, so I guess it was kinda gradually enough for no one to take to much attention, and if a boy said anything he'd get teased or embarrassed for looking at my bra, and if a girl said anything she'd get teased for not needing to wear one. And by the time I started to get bigger boobs and wear a proper bra some other girls had started to develop or just wanted to be cool and grown up and were wearing some form of bra

Oh that's good. You handled that well. Teasing wasn't TOO bad on my end. Friends made jokes but nothing truly meanspirited outside of an incident where a girl thought i was trying to steal her bf and called me a flat chested b**tch! That sure didn't feel good obvs. Says way more about her than it does about me that's for sure.

The grass most definitely isn't! And yes there was teasing because I was just so much larger up top than my peers plus the usual immature oggling from the boys naturally. I've learned to deal with it now I'm 16 but it took a while

I was 12, started wearing sports bras because the older girls on the volleyball team would wear them for practice because it was so hot in the gym. I'm not sure I would say that I was proud but I did feel like I fit in a bit more with the other girls, and it was definitely a bit cooler during practice.

Was that as well as a shirt or just the bra? I remember when I was 11 and 12 if I was doing sports inside and it was hot, I was jealous that the boys could play without their shirts but we couldn't.

Just the sports bra. We had to have a shirt during gym class but when the volleyball team was practicing after school and it was just us, we could were just a sports bra.

Before you started wearing the sports bra, could you not fit in with the older girls because you couldn't take your shirt off in the heat, or did you just want to wear it because you needed to because of your boobs, or just because you liked the look of them?

I liked the look of them, didn't really need one yet. I also didn't want to be the only one at practice wearing a shirt and it was really warm in the gym.

i dont know about others, but i absolutely LOVED my training bras!! they werent the croptop /cami pull pver style but instead looked like real bras. I insisted on that. just basic padded triangles and clasps, just without the formed cups. They were SO cute and comfy! Got them at 11 and stayed in them till 13. even when i got first cup bra (30A) i still preferred my training bras for at least a year after.

While I'm still waiting for enough boob growth to need a bra, I did find that being allowed to get my nipples pierced last July did help me feel more grown up, and made a visible change of course, which involved that part of me. I'm glad that I did it.
At this point, there's not a lot of hope that I will ever have very much more growth there. I've grown several inches taller in the past year, but my weight has stayed pretty much the same. Anyhow it hasn't made my boobs any more obvious than they were already. Which is pretty much not obvious at all. If you look really closely, there's a little bit of curvature there but that's all.
If I never have enough to need a bra, that's how my unique body is supposed to be, and I'll be OK with it. I'm very secure about my body image and what is, is what is. We are all beautiful in our own unique way :)
