You get born. You grow up. You fuck to push the generation forward and eventually die. Unless I've misunderstood, that's how it works. That's the meaning of life.
Now give me one goddamn reason in the name of Satan's sweaty asshole why should even bother pushing the generation forward. I never asked for this. Just because I'm horny 24/7 doesn't mean I wanna reproduce. Besides it's gonna be all black when we snuff it anyway, and everything we've experienced is gonna be a total waste.
Have a nice day.

That's all probably true. But there are so many amazing and wonderful things we can experience and see while we're doing all that. And maybe as individuals we may not do anything that would change the world, but together maybe we could make a better planet for our children and there children. So maybe there is no point to life, but if we make the most of it maybe that is the point of life, to live it for every second

Yeah you're probably right. I was depressed when I made this thread, better now though. :) One day at the time, I guess.

Glad your feeling a bit better now :) I feel like that myself sometimes but I just try think about positive things and well it helps a bit. So yeah I hope I'm right and a big hug make us both feel a little more positive

No need to have kids. I mean, fertility rates all around the world are dropping fast, so it's staying childless is becoming more and more commonplace. Besides, I think having kids is a burden, a burden I could live much more comfortably without.

Thanks. :) Yeah I try to when I have such episodes, it's not easy, but usually it works eventually. :)

I see life as an opportunity to do as you please and be happy with it around people you might cheer up to. If you don't want to have kids, then don't. Reproducing is down to the basics of instincts anyway. Very good to keep people going on earth I guess, but many other people do that. It will not be an empty earth for years to come :-)

Yeah I'm gonna leave that to others. Guess moving our bloodline forward is up to my brother now. ;)

Yeah, I totally get that, Anita. I say screw doing stuff just because other people do or it's expected.

That's what I intend to do. I was in a dark place when I made this thread though, so I'd normally formulate it differently, but I will definitely resign from that particular "task". ;)

I know about being in a dark place and I am still not convinced that the dark place isn't the most realistic.

That's probably true, I try to avoid it as much as I can, but some times I end up there.

Or adopt. There's loads of kids in orphanages who want and need families to look after them.

True but you got to be really ready to do that and think about it loads first. Its not a quick fix so you can get a kid and not add to the population.
Those kids need someone to love them but believe me they can be hard work.
I know.:whoops:
Not saying it isn't a great thing to do but not always easy.

"Where there's hope, there is life. It fills us with fresh courage and makes us strong again." Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl
Hang onto that. Glad you are feeling better.

As my mom told me, you not going to know what parenthood is like until you are one.
I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and a lot of that is subjective value we find in ourselves through our own personal reactions to life events.
But I also strongly believe in an afterlife and that when that time comes it isn’t something we should rush into, it’ll happen on it so own time. Until then your a living resource to voluntarily help make the world a less painful and more loving place for others while you are here.

The space aliens are watching us.
Do a good job, or they will think less of us
than they already do....
