I recently got a notebook as a present and, unfortunately, isn't the best in playing games at all (barely can play RuneScape on all-low graphics). Since I don't have linux here and linux OS's usually have a lower hardware demand, allowing more for processes, I ask you guys! :D
What Linux Distro would you suggest for everyday use?

ubuntu for everyday use.
CentOS uses less resources though.
Edit: Sadly runescape is a highly demanding game resource wise these days... Try closing everything else down and using the runescape downloadable client before trying linux.

I have a shitty Acer Aspire One netbook with Crunchbang on it. Windows 7 is way too slow on it and I couldn't get XP to install on it, so I looked around for a light distro and chose Crunchbang. It runs pretty smooth now for a netbook, but I'm still glad this is just a backup PC. in terms of what the Atom can run it's barely a step above a TI-84.

I also had an Aspire One with XP on it. XP broke and I installed XUbuntu. It worked, but then the network card burned out...
