Which Superman did you thing did the character most credit? Gimme a list right now!

Only live action actors, please. I couldn't care less about the voice actors for those anime things.

Here's mine:

1. Christopher Reeve.
2. George Reeves.
3. Brandon Routh.
4. Henry Cavill.

If there's any live action actor I've forgot, please let me know. :)

Your turn.

Probably Tyler Hoechlin even though you don't see much of him I haven't seen the older superman films and I didn't like Henry Cavill.

I can see why, he's kinda fit for it. And I can recommend the older ones from '78 and out, they're pure gold.

He was good too, and Superman Returns was an amazing homage to the old films, but the first two with Reeve were the shit, in my opinion. ;)

Reeve, wow. He is so awkward as Clark Kent in ways that the others aren't. He makes you believe that Clark Kent and Superman really are two different people. :P

Also we can add Dean Cain to the list. He plays Supergirl's earth dad on Supergirl and back in the 90s he played Superman. I have never watched it though. It is just more useless trivia in my head. lol

Tyler Hoechlin tho  Yea they keep finding creative ways to keep him off the show haha. But he is so much better than Cavill, who is too DARK. Superman and Supergirl are bright and optimistic and embody hope. And that's why the TV version is better than what the latest movies give us.

My list.

1. Christopher Reeve
2. Tyler Hoechlin
3. Henry Cavill
4. Brandon Routh

Not ranked because i haven't seen them - Brandon Routh, Tom Welling, Dean Cain, George Reeves.

Brandon Routh sucked.
Tyler Hoechlin is ok.
Henry Cavill is good.
Tom Welling is probably my pick. I watched the show when I was younger and loved it.

I haven't seen Christopher Reeve films, so I can't talk about his Superman.

I saw the Christopher Reeves Superman after I saw Superman Returns (Brandon Routh) and saw Man of Steel (Henry Cavill) like 3 years ago?

Reeves is my favorite, Brandon Routh (meh), and Henry is (better meh).

But I don’t judge the actors too harshly, I actually blame bad storytelling and directing for how Superman and all DC properties were treated narratively speaking.

Man of Steel is like a 5/10 movie, it has no heart and the way Superman is written he seems cruel almost, and way to emotionally insecure.

Tom Welling was good but Smallville never really showed flight or the outfit well, and the actor looks hecka old now compared to when I watched the series in 2004-2009. Some of the episodes were so weird too.

I'm not going to provide a list but I can't stand Henry Cavill or Ben Affleck either for that matter.

Noooooooo :)

The Dark Knight is still the best superhero movie ever.

Here is a fun bit of Superman news. Brandon Routh will be reprising his role as Superman (https://ew.com/tv/2019/09/27/brandon-routh-superman-photo-crisis-arrowverse-crossover/) in upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover on the CWs "arrowverse". So he will be joining a cast including Tyler Hoechlin's Superman and also Tom Welling from Smallville! I haven't seen Smallville but still it sounds pretty SUPER :D

Sweet! :D I've always preferred Brandon over any Superman actor that came after Christopher Reeve, so this will be good.

It makes sense since the actor is already playing The Atom on Legends of Tomorrow. Wonder if they will mention how they look alike?? :P

Dare you. Those guys are great. :D And animated comic movies are even better than live action ones.

Btw: It's called animated not anime, which belongs just to animated manga stuff. So call it at best anims.

Any actor who dares to embody Superman in a live action movie or series deserves respect, for the role of Superman is known to be cursed.

And I don't mean the tragic life of Superman actors like George Reeves and Christopher Reeve, but simply the reputation that such performers acquire bei represent the Superman character. But there is also a difference between embodying Superman in movies and series. Where series can be more stigmatizing than movies.

As for the rating thing shown in the intro-post, that's just a girli thing. :D

This is my favorite Superman.

When playing Clark Kent was so lovely and funny...
