I think you were just nervous, and when it came to go into your girlfriend you just were overthinking things. The best thing you can do is be honest with your girlfriend and tell her that you're nervous and that you're finding it hard to keep it hard. I think once you two get really comfortable around each other and reassure each other than no matter what happens things will be all right, then you'll be fine. Just do not overthink sex, and go with the flow.
