Hey just got a quick question for guys out there... what is your preferred method for birth control, condoms or pulling out? I have used both, and while both have their good points and not so good points, I thought that condoms were generally used more and was thought to be the best method, but after talking with some of my friends, they made it sound like no one uses condoms any more and they all claim to just pull out... is this true or is this just "guys being guys?"

If you don’t want kids or STDs, use condoms. If you enjoy birthing children and hosting a culture of little disease dudes on your willy, then pull out to your heart’s content

Still a virgin here but I wouldn't trust pulling out. Use a damn condom. Pulling out doesn't protect you from STDs. Also semen can sometimes be in pre-cum and don't you want to orgasm inside her rather than having to pull out anyway?

And who cares what other people say they do. If they want to get STDs or someone pregnant then that's their choice. You don't also have to be dumb.

is this true or is this just "guys being guys?"

More like guys being idiots.

Apart from their being some sperm in pre-cum the big problem with pulling out is that your instincts are to stay in and sometimes so are hers so the chances of not pulling out in time are high.

Then there the fact a condom is effective against STIs and pulling out is not.

There is a situation where it is a reasonable choice: with a couple who have decided they wlll have children but are just choosing the best time so that a child arriving a bit early would not be a disaster, just not quite optimum.

like others said, i would never use the pulling out. risk is just too high, in part because i am not always totally in control when it happens
however, me and my girlfriend use another form of birth control as she is on the pill

well i wouldn't exactly call pulling out birth control lol, its definitely the least reliable as pregnancy is possible from precum and there is no protection from STD's, so definitely condoms

If your girlfriend is using birth control there is little risk of her getting pregnant as long as she remembers to take her pill as prescribed.

I think that using condoms reduces the risk of pregnancy greatly. Pulling out is risky because there usually is sperm in precum that can get into a girl's vagina before you pull out of her. Pulling out can be almost as risky as staying inside her while you are shooting sperm. Condoms are the best method of avoiding pregnancy.

Hey thanks for the replies everyone... oh and I should have been a little more clear, it's not like I am hooking up with random girls, I was referring to my gf. She doesn't not want to do the pill so I respect her decision. And yeah I get it with the instincts with pulling out... the first time I tried it I kinda screwed it up, I thought I could keep going until I started orgasming and then pull it out since I *usually* don't start cumming until after my orgasm starts, but it was really hard! It's like I totally froze up and wanted to push instead of pull.

most girls I am around are on the pill or have a spiral, so condoms aren't necessary as long as they're on that

Dude it's ok that was awhile ago, nothing happened from it... fortunately I didn't blow my whole load in her, only like 1-2 spurts, which I know is still too much.

So I dislike using condoms I prefer to not use them due to comfort with sizing and the feeling going without is like no other. I've been fortunate not to have caught anything I try to inquire about a girl before having sex with her to know a little bit about her history but in all honesty I've had a lot of encounters when it was one night stand situation or causal thing so I wouldn't advise that route without going over risks

With a lot of my experiences without a condom if she was on the pill I would bust inside. If not then I would pull out. There have been numerous occasions where in the moment I just couldn't --actually recently I had one of those

A couple of those raw and non pull out methods have resulted in pregnancies that went on to be terminated

As time goes on I try to use condoms more but I will say the norm for me and especially my friends is that we just try to pull out and hope for the best

I think you just got lucky as most of the sperm are in the first few spurts. To be fair the chances of pregnancy from doing it once are about 1:4.

That's pretty high compared to proper contraception, though. When we say that a condom if 98% effective that means if 100 couples use it for a year there will be only 2 pregnancies. If we then use the average for having sex 3x/week that makes 156x/year, multiply that by the 100 couples so that 15600/year so the chances of pregnancy from each occasion are 2:15600 which is 1:7800.

Well, as much as I enjoy going raw dog, if I were with a girl, I wouldnt use the pull out method because its just too risky, so I would settle for suing a condom.

Thanks for the talk! Yeah I know what you mean about going bare, there is a huge difference between raw and condom, and I do much prefer going raw. But I know, it is really hard to control sometimes, like the first time I tried, I thought it was going to be super easy to pull out but I couldn't believe how strong the urge to push in was, I just froze up and then it was too late when I got control, but it's like my friends make pulling out sound like no big deal and they make it sound super easy. But yeah wow that's deep w/ the pregnancies, sorry that you had to go through that man

Do you ever worry that one of the girls will want to keep the kid and you'll be stuck paying for child support?

I'd personally be terrified of that. I suppose I should talk with someone about my sex phobias and body image problems... but I digress.

Why feel sorry for him? Note he said pregnancies plural. He knows it is an unreliable method because it has, for him, resulted in the girl getting pregnant before and yet he carries on just the same.

Condoms are by far the best way of the two. Pulling out is not a solution. Unless she is on a pill, condoms are the best.

Yeah they've been conversations because at the end it's the woman's decision so whatever decision I have to be able to accept which I why I try to be better with those things

The only time pulling out should be considered is for the pleasure of cumming on her face, or tits, or mouth, etc.

I am on the pill, but condoms are the way to go over the pull out method. Even pre cum while inside could do the job of getting a girl pregnant. If you are not wanted to get pregnant than using a condom is the best way to go other than not having sex at all.

I think guys just being guys. At least I hope. Pulling out is great but even when we are not cumming our dick as residues and some fluids that can have spermatozoa. So pulling out is dangerous. Also that doesnt prevent STD. The best is to use condom or take the pill( that also doesn't prevent STD).

This sound hard. A guys natural urge when cumming is to push in deep to get as much sperm in her as possible not pull away. going bare definitely feels better but more risky to get her pregnant.

i would seriously avoid pulling out as it is still dangerous. just go with condoms, it's the safe option.

Pulling out is dangerous so I would wear protection. To be extra safe wear 2 condoms, a layer of clingfilm and put some elastic bands round it.
