friend liking the same girl as me

Hey guys, I'm kind of in a weird place right now...

So my friend, lets call him G, dated this one girl D about two years ago, they stopped after a few weeks. And even before I started being friend with G, I talked with D. And then we became really good friends with G because we both love music. G had a really hard past, he had a bad family and his parents broke up. And also to mention he does a loooot of drugs (he spends around a hundred dollars a week on those). And while being friend and having fun I started liking D, and so did she. We're going along pretty well and it's the first girl that ever liked me.
But a few days ago, I saw G stalking D's profile on Instagram. I asked him if he liked her and he answered "to be completely honest I do". I'm kind of a weird situation Right now, I don't want to hurt my friend, but it would belying to say I don't like her. And I'm also scared G might do more drugs if he learns, or that he stops being my friend, which I really don't want to happen. I want him to be happy. And I want to be honest because this situation kills me...

So what do you think do you have any ideas what I should do or not do ?

U want him to b happy but his
habit wont do that. Even if you
consider him ur friend the drug
use in a friendship or relationship
never turns out right. For now just
only b friends with the girl and watch
he is not turning her on to drugs. Maybe
she will realize not to think of doing drugs
and come to u.

Hard truth: you can’t have your cake and eat it too.


If D likes you back, and you like her, it’s both of your turns to explore that. It’s not like G didn’t have his chance, and his background is no excuse for his actions or failures to maintain a relationship.

Yes he might be bitter about you being with his crush, but then thats only proves he sees romance and love in the paradigm of a “contest”. Romance is somewhat of a competition but it’s more of a competition to develop your best self that inherently becomes attractive in a self-sustaining kind of way.

Because the ultimate goal is to be 2 fully fledged adults capable of having jobs and raising children of your own.


How many drug users end up being good parents? Exactly my point.
