I've always held an interest in the links between politics-leaning and personality type. Below I'm posting link to the myer-briggs personality test, straight from Wikipedia it's: "a psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions," and it's ridiculously accurate I've always found. What I'm suggesting is that people take the test and then post their results here alongside their declared political leanings - or pasted what they got out of phuckphace's test a while ago. Here's the link now: http://www.16personalities.com/
***
I'm an ENTP and I declare left-liberal/libertarian. I've taken the myer-briggs test maybe 4 times over the last year and a half and have always gotten ENTP. If anyone here knew me well enough they'd realise how close it is. For a quick rundown of the ENTP see:
ENTP personalities find it easy to come up with arguments and counterarguments in any discussion, jumping from one idea to another without much effort. They also enjoy being devil’s advocates.
Very knowledgeable: ENTPs enjoy learning new things and accumulating knowledge. They tend to be very successful in the academic environment, especially where there is a need for original and bold solutions.
Excellent brainstormers: People with this personality type can easily see both sides of the coin and do not get emotionally attached to a specific viewpoint or an idea. They simply enjoy the process of looking for possible solutions.
Original: ENTPs are not afraid to experiment and suggest ideas that are unconventional or even drastic. They are especially well suited for coming up with novel solutions for historical, systemic problems.
Charismatic: Quick-witted and confident ENTPs tend to also be charming and popular, intriguing and attracting people around them.
Energetic: ENTP personalities can be very enthusiastic and energetic if something excites them. They can spend ages looking for a solution to an interesting problem.
ENTP weaknesses:
Very argumentative: ENTPs enjoy debates and see them as mental exercises – this attitude can easily upset more sensitive or stability-oriented types.
Insensitive: ENTP personalities are very rational, which is likely to make it difficult for them to recognize other people’s feelings or express their own.
May find it difficult to focus: ENTPs’ mind is used to jumping from one interesting idea to another – they may have difficulties staying focused on one specific topic.
Dislike practical matters: ENTPs are more interested in ideas and solutions than practical, daily matters. They may have no difficulties coming up with the perfect plan, but are likely to be far less interested in actually putting it in place, checking all the details etc.
May be intolerant: ENTP personalities may sometimes be intolerant and dismissive, especially when they have to deal with people who try to avoid debates or cannot defend their ideas.
Get bored quickly: ENTPs need to feel excited – routine tasks bore and frustrate them. They may even come up with imaginative problems or start suggesting unnecessary improvements, just to keep their mind occupied.
Also: whilst I realise it is somewhat off-topic here, I find that I'm more likely to catch the interest of politically-minded people here than elsewhere on the boards.

I'm pretty skeptical of tests that we take over the internet, regardless of how accurate they seem. We aren't exactly good at evaluating our own character.

I have taken the test on a psychology site and am an INFJ but I know not the political side to that. Apparently my type is rare, altruistic, creative, and ideal and sensitive.

I'm an ENJP. After reading into it, I realized they described me almost perfectly. Who would've know the internet could be right for once? :P

INTJ Personality
"You are not entitled to your opinion. You are entitled to your informed opinion. No one is entitled to be ignorant." -- Harlan Ellison The INTJ personality type is one of the rarest and most interesting types. Comprising only about 2 percent of the U.S. population (INTJ females are especially rare—just 0.8%), INTJs are often seen as highly intelligent and perplexingly mysterious. INTJ personalities radiate self-confidence, relying on their huge archive of knowledge spanning many different topics and areas. INTJs usually begin to develop that knowledge in early childhood (the “bookworm” nickname is quite common among INTJs) and keep on doing that later on in life.
When someone with the INTJ personality has mastered their chosen area of knowledge (INTJs can find their strengths in several fields), they can quickly and honestly say whether they know the answer to a specific question. INTJs know what they know, and more importantly, they are confident in that knowledge. Unsurprisingly, this personality type can be labeled as the most independent of all types.
INTJs are very decisive, original and insightful – these traits push other people to accept the INTJ’s ideas simply because of that sheer willpower and self-confidence. However, INTJ personalities do not seek nor enjoy the spotlight and may often decide to keep their opinions to themselves if the topic of discussion does not interest them that much.
INTJ personalities are perfectionists, and they enjoy improving ideas and systems they come in contact with. As INTJs are naturally curious, this tends to happen quite frequently. However, they always try to remain in the rational territory no matter how attractive the end goal is. Every idea that is generated by the INTJ’s mind or reaches it from the outside needs to pass the cold-blooded filter called “Is this going to work?” This is the INTJ’s coping mechanism, and they are notorious for applying it all the time, questioning everything and everyone.
INTJ personalities also have an unusual combination of both decisiveness and vivid imagination. What this means in practice is that they can both design a brilliant plan and execute it. Imagine a giant chess board where the pieces are constantly moving, trying out new tactics, always directed by an unseen hand. This is what the INTJ’s imagination is like. An INTJ would assess all possible situations, calculate strategic and tactical moves, and more often than not develop a contingency plan or two as well. If someone with the INTJ personality type starts working with a new system, they will regard the task as a moral obligation, merging their perfectionism and drive into one formidable force. An INTJ will likely immediately and permanently lose respect for anyone who does not have enough talent or simply does not see the point, including the higher ranks of management.
INTJ personalities also often shoulder the burden of making important decisions without consulting their peers. They are natural leaders and excellent strategists, but they willingly give way to others vying for a leadership position, usually people with Extraverted (E) personality types. However, such action can be deceptive and maybe even calculated. An INTJ will retreat into the shadows, maintaining their grip on the most important decisions, and as soon as the leader fails and there is a need to take the steering wheel, the INTJ will not hesitate to act, maybe even while staying in the background. The INTJ personality is the ultimate “man behind the curtain.”
INTJs dislike rules and artificial limitations; everything should be questionable and open to reevaluation. They may be idealists (impossible is nothing) and cynics (everybody lies) at the same time. Whatever the circumstances, you can always rely on the INTJ to “fill in” the gaps in the idea. They are most likely to come up with an unorthodox solution.
Generally speaking, INTJs usually prefer to work in the area they know very well. Their typical career is related to science or engineering, but they can be found anywhere there is a need for intelligence, a restless mind, and insight (e.g. law, data analysis or some academic fields). INTJ personalities rarely seek managerial positions; if they do, this is probably because they need more power and freedom of action, not because they enjoy managing people.
Every personality type has many weak spots and INTJs are not an exception. There is one area where their brilliant mind often becomes completely useless and may even hinder their efforts: INTJs find it very difficult to handle romantic relationships, especially in their earliest stages. People with this personality type are more than capable of loving and taking care of the people close to them, but they are likely to be completely clueless when it comes to attracting a partner.
The main reason behind this is that INTJ personalities are both private and incredibly rational. They find it very difficult to understand the complex social rituals that are considered part of the dating game, especially in Western societies. Things like flirting or small talk are unnatural to them; furthermore, INTJs (especially females) tend to see typical attraction tactics (such as feigning disinterest) as incredibly stupid and irrational.
Ironically, INTJs are most likely to attract a partner when they stop looking for them; this is when their self-confidence starts shining again. There are few things that are more attractive than the unrelenting self-confidence that INTJs are known for.
Wow. I was not expecting a self-administered online test to be that good. I'm a Neo-liberal Democrat/ Libertarian, which definitely matches the INTJ personality type. Also, it said Walter White shares my personality! Yay!
This probably also explains my extreme dislike of windows 8 and preference for Ubuntu or Arch.

Note: I LOVVVE personality tests on the internet.
I usually get INTP on these tests, sometimes ISTP or INTJ, but it's the first time actually getting ISTJ. And, according to a previous test also on the ROTW forums, Neo-capitalist.

I don't believe in Meyer's Briggs because nothing in this world can tell you exactly who you are, and life will tell you more than just some random questions, I am something like INTJ I think, do I let that influence me? Hell no. Do I think that has to do with political alignments? Hell no since mine is not related to my "personality".

ISFP Breakdown of preferences: Mind - Introverted (74%), Energy - Observant (5%), Nature - Feeling (31%), Tactics - Prospecting (35%), Identity - Turbulent (37%).
Don't know about the specifics, but ISFP is generally what I call myself, although I'm sometimes torn between that and INFP, which is bizarre as that basically describes all my personal problems, lol. I'm not a political person. I'm way far-left and I guess I associate myself more with the Green Party but yeah, not really political, although I have strong opinions.

I don't believe in Meyer's Briggs because nothing in this world can tell you exactly who you are.
The test doesn't claim to do this. It'll tell you about as much as your personality as your best friend might: it'll be good, but never perfect. I think it's a bit of fun anyway: like, as long as people don't go taking the results to heart - myself being typed as pretty-much the stereotypical asshole character - then it's an amusing way to pass 15 minutes.
