Hi everyone. I’m a little worried/uncomfortable. My mom hasn’t really had a good look at my body without a shirt on recently and I’ve been thinking about what would happen when she does. To be honest, I don’t want her to see the hair under my arms or the little happy trail or the little chest hair. I’m 16 btw. What should I do so that I’m not scared to take my shirt off around her?

Would she specifically look? She knows you will be growing up. It would depend how U would feel walking round the house with your shirt off

Don't take ur shirt off. Really Im sure
she knows that ur body has changed.
Mothers r not stupid or Dads BTW. If
u r uncomfortable and you are in the
situation where she sees u without a
shirt-just excuse urself and then cover
up but I wouldn't b scared about it.

i’m kinda the same, my parents haven’t seen shit for years lmao and sometimes i think of how they’d react to all this hair, she’d probably understand though, she did go through puberty similarly to you.

Oh like she hasn't seen a young, growing up man already...

Always wear cloths at home, when parent s are around...

Never have thought about it that much. They have seen me without a shirt on all the time or less. They know you are growing up so probs are more uncomfortable to them seeing you than you are. You don't need to be uncomfortable around your parents but do what you need too. Hope that made sense?

I'm pretty sure she will see you more adult-like.

But if you are worried, just always wear clothes when you are at home.

What's wrong with underarm hair?

She is your mom. Why should you be worried or concerned about her seeing you without a shirt or just in your underwear for that matter. I am sure she won't say anything or embarrass you so just do it.

Are you worried that your mum will be surprised that "her little boy" is starting to look more like a man? By 16.5 I would not have thought that hair would be the only change to show that. Has your voice changed? I'd also bet that your face now looks more adult than it did so I bet she already knows you're growing into a man and anyway, she has to accept is sooner or later.

This never occurred to me to be an issue of concern. What these guys said^

Moms can make strange comments. Mine a few months ago saw me with pit hair for the first time and said my boy is becoming a man. I just brushed it off.
