Maybe because you pick your nails or have hair on your toes?

Some people probably r turned off
by seeing bare feet with or without
shoes but as long as ur feet r clean
and ur nails r well kept I don't c y u
have to b discouraged by someone
hinting that they don't like it. It is
not ur prob-it is theirs.

As long as ur nails r clean and cut I
don't really c a prob. As for hair some
guys r suppose to have hair there. U can
always shave it off if u think it would gross
someone out. :)

I agree with the others that as long as you keep your feet up by cutting your toenails and by keeping them clean, then you should not have any issues even if you have hobbit feet.

I would not recommend wearing your shoes without socks because your shoes can really start smelling badly as a result. If you do not like to wear socks in general, then you can try low cut or ankle socks that give the appearance that you are not wearing socks with your shoes.

I see no big deal with not wearing socks. Some eating establishments may have a problem because of a policy like no shirt no shoes no service but you would have to see how they judged flip flops.

just don’t care what they think, they probably aren’t attacking you personally, just the subject as a whole

some people just don't like feet, doubt it's personal. Now that spring is here I won't wear socks very often

I live in Florida, so sandals, flip flops, whatever you want is the norm. I don’t mind at all personally. I do know people who are bothered by it though. For instance, my friend and his family don’t like people at their house barefoot. Idk why, but I guess we are all different.

I personally think sandals and flipflops should only be worn without socks. I cant stand people that wear socks and sandals. For shoes, definitely wear socks

Where I live in the summer, just about everybody wears flip flops. We're at the beach so they make the most sense. And for me, I don't really look at others' feet so it doesn't bother me at all.

Many people wear shoes without socks in summer. Fabric sneakers can be cleaned in washing machines so there's not much of a risk with odours and cleanliness if they are cleaned regularly. Plus socks don't absorb all the sweat anyway, it always goes into the shoes as well.
I'm not a fan of flip flops and sandals because it doesnt look good. Guys rarely wear them in cities where I live. When on holidays if they go to the beach they do, but not as everyday wear.

That's like a throwback to Victorian times. They didn't like legs and even covered up the legs of table because they were considered rude.

The way I'd look at this is that the parts of the body that you should have covered in any public place are those that would be covered by a swimming costume so for guys that's not a lot.

There maybe places where convention is to be a bit more covered and, as others have mentioned, establishments you go in may have a dress code but that's slightly different from body parts being rude or offensive.

Some people are just grossed out by feet. As long as you take care of your feet by cutting the nails regularly and ensuring there isn't a buildup of dead skin/verrucas there's no reason you shouldn't be free to have them visible if you so want

Never heard that someone is grossed out by feet unless those are dirty and stinky with long nails...
Anyway, I used to wear flip flops for life, thanks to the warm climate I live in. Though nowadays I should wear special shoes because I have flat feet, traveling a long distance causes pain and exhausts me, not to mention traveling to hill areas. My doc have subscribed me arch supports and advised to look for shoes like this (https://willpowerpeak.com/best-walking-shoes-for-flat-feet/). I hope I'll get back to wearing flip flops and sandals again one day.

People seem to either love or hate seeing feet lol. Is there a name for that phobia? I am pretty sure wearing shoes without socks can cause extra sweating or odors. But they are probably not talking about you specifically if all they're saying is that they don't like feet.

It's better to wear socks while wearing shoes. But if you don't want to, just gotta make sure you do extra cleaning on your feet

I usually wear athletic white socks with sneakers. I will go barefoot in my house and around the pool in summer. I don't particularly like wearing flip-flops because the piece between my big toe drives me crazy.
